Body-Friendly Lubrication

This is a wonderful body-friendly, natural-feeling lubricant. It lasts a long time without leaving a big mess, while mimicking the natural fluids of the human body. Although its bitter taste may make it hard to switch sex acts without leaving a bad taste in your mouth, using this product is totally worth it. Bring on the organic silkiness!

Use

Sliquid Organics Silk is a water-based lubricant. Since it is also body-friendly, this also makes it one of the most versatile lubes you can use. This lubricant is not only great for penetrative acts with your partner(s), but also for solo fun during masturbation. This lubricant is compatible with sex toys, so you do not have to worry about ruining your favorite toy. If you just use your hands, this is also a great option.

Without the worry of toxins or glycerin in your lubricant that can cause infections or be harmful to your health, you are free to use Sliquid as much as you want. Except watch out for the shower! As always, water-based lubricants will wash away when hit by water. If you're getting down in the shower, make sure whatever part you are lubing stays out of the direct water!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Silk lubes are generally a good choice when you are searching for a product that will mimic the bodily fluids your body really does make. It allows for the experience of using lube to feel less artificial, and since it is water-based, you don't have to worry about cleaning it off once you are finished since your body will absorb most of it (although if you did apply generously, you may have some leftover when you finish).

Sliquid Silk Organics feels smooth and creamy to the touch. When you rub it into your hands, they feel silky and moisturized. It makes you wet and slippery enough to have some fun without being heavy or sticky.

The white substance really does look like it came right from you or your partners body. It comes out of the bottle so easily, and really does the job once you apply it. It lasts for the entire act (as least as far as I can tell so far!), and does not leave much of a mess after since water-based lubes can be absorbed into the body.

Taste / Aroma

This lube does not smell like much of anything I can put my finger on. The scent seems as light as the texture does. It reminds me of something natural and floral (which is not a huge surprise considering it is an organic lube). The taste I also couldn't place, but it had a hint of bitterness to it that was not particularly enjoyable. Perhaps this would not be the best option if you were looking for an oral sex aid (try something else from Sliquids wonderful line!).
    • Bitter taste
    • Light smell

Performance

The product lasted through whatever I put it through, and it did so without feeling like I was using lube at all. It felt natural, like it was my own body that had produced the wetness. To me, that is the holy grail of all lubricants!

At the end, everything that had been inside ended up absorbing on its own, but the lubricant that was on the outside of the genitals had to be either rubbed in or wiped off if there was too much of it. This is pretty typical of all water-based lubricants I have experienced.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural
    • Long lasting

Packaging

I like that the packaging is going for the earthy vibe of the product. However, I really do not like the little statements on the side about women's sexuality. I think Sliquid was a little quick to jump on this product as something for women, when really your gender is completely irrelevant to using lubricant. Everyone should be using it, and especially products like this that are so much better for your body than other options. Not to mention that I do not believe Sliquid really knows enough about my sexuality and other women's sexuality to pin it down into a couple of sentences on the side of a bottle.

Other than that, the bottle itself is brown with a taupe label on it. The lid is a push to open type that opens and closes fairly easily with one hand. There is not much information about the product itself or its benefits on it (instead just the bit about female sexuality), which is a huge bummer considering the opportunity to market its benefits there.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak

Special Features

Perhaps the most wonderful thing about this lubricant is that it is eco-friendly. It is vegan, paraben-free, glycerin free, and petroleum free. A lot of recent research suggests that having toxins like parabens in your body may have a negative impact on your health, so it is wonderful to see so many companies eliminate them from their products. Glycerin is commonly found in a lot of lubricants, but it often causes infections in vagina-owners. Its absence in Sliquid Organics Silk means that this product is safe to use even if you are prone to vaginal infections!

very good review, the only thing i'd add is something about the price, especially in comparison to other, similar lubes. Also maybe more about the ingredients, if there's anything important them, in terms of allergens.
