Use

Sliquid Organics Silk is a water-based hybrid lube that feels creamy and slick all while being natural and body-friendly. It's best uses include both vaginal and anal penetration. It's also great for use with toys or during solo play. Silk is safe for use with latex, rubber, and plastic.

This lube would be great for anyone who has sensitivities or allergies. Silk uses certified organic botanicals and all-natural ingredients, which is wonderful for those of you going Green! It's also vegan-friendly, and does no testing on animals. It's hypoallergenic, paraben, glycerine, and petroleum free. And last but not least it's non-staining.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

Sliquid Organics Silk is a milky white color and is about the thickness of conditioner. It feels creamy and smooth, but not as silky as expected. It's slippery and slick, and definitely gets the job done, but if you're dead set on silkyness you may want to try another product.

This lube is thick enough to stay in place while moisturizing and softening whatever it touches. In most cases, I did not need to reapply this lube. I did, however, have to reapply when using larger toys for a longer duration.

After using Silk, you feel moisturized and soft without any sticky or tacky feeling left behind.

Taste / Aroma

This lube has a very, very faint scent. It smells clean and fresh, and most likely what you're smelling is the Rose ether and aloe. I love the subtle scent!

Silk is not meant to be ingested, but if you "accidentally" taste it like I did, it has a very light bitter taste. I wouldn't perform oral sex after using this until you wash off with some warm water and soap.

Performance

Sliquid Silk lasted the longest for me when used for vaginal intercourse and female masturbation. It provides a smooth, natural-feeling experience. For male masturbation and anal activities it did need to be reapplied after about 15 minutes of vigorous action. I also found that I only used a small amount each time, a little bit goes a rather long way. I thought as compared to other water-based lubes, this hybrid held up much better.

There should be no need to clean up with this lube. There is no residue or sticky feeling left behind after use. If you do feel the need to clean off anyways, this stuff can be easily washed away by a quick shower or with a wash cloth and some gentle soap.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

Sliquid Organics Silk is packaged in a brown, apothecary-styled bottle that comes in two sizes: 4.2 and 8.5 ounces. The bottle features a push-top that is easy to use with one hand or during playtime, though it is thick enough you have to squeeze the bottle slightly. The label is soft and mat finished in pale green colors. The front label says this lube is "Botanically Infused" and is glycerin & paraben free natural lubricating silk and shows their lotus symbol.

The right side of the label talks about Sliquids mission to create products for women with sensitivities. It also describes what their lotus symbol means. It also askes you to please recycle the bottle. There is a small warning to discontinue use if irritation occurs and to keep away from children.

The left side of the label shows the ingredients, and bullet-points all of the wonderful attributes of this product and that it is proudly formulated in the USA.

There are no instructions. The labeling is discreet enough to leave this bottle on the counter and no one that glanced over it would think it was anything other than a product from The Body Shop. The 4.2 ounce bottle is great for travel, and the lube is thick enough leaking should not be a problem.

    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak
    • Recyclable

Experience

Sliquid lubes are my favorites, and I absolutely loved trying this lube out! The creamy, thick consistency is not exactly what I expected from a "silk" lube, but it worked great and therefore I'm willing to forgive and forget the misleading title. The Vitamin E and Aloe left my skin soft which is a nice added touch. And I'm all for all-natural products that don't test on animals. Thank you, Sliquid, this is one of my favorite water-based lubes!
