Use

ID Moments is a hypo-allergenic, water-based lube which is great for anyone with sensitive skin or allergies to some of the ingredients in other water-based lubes. The formula is glycerin and paraben free and should not cause much, if any, irritation.

This product provides enough glide, while still being light, to be used for vaginal penetration with toys or during sex. It is latex-compatible, so condom use is perfectly fine with this one. This lube can be used with all toy materials, as well. It works well for less-intense anal play, but not provide the amount of glide or thickness that some require for comfort. The non-irritating formula can also be used to combat vaginal dryness.

Those who are prone to vaginal discomfort from other lubes, or who are highly susceptible to yeast infections, will appreciate that this lube is glycerin free. This formula is pretty simple, but a bit hard to pronounce:

Water, butylene glycol, carboxy-methylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp, copolymer, PEG-45m, citric acid, sodium benzoate.

Butylene glycol is a common additive in many cosmetics and is used as a preservative. Carboxy-methylcellulose is used as a thickener is many gels and liquids, including foods, and is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. Hydroxyethylcellulose is pretty much the same thing and is also used in pill capsules. Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer is another thickening agent that is commonly found in beauty producs. PEG-45m is yet another thickener, like the above, but not safe for general consumption, although it is approved for use in cosmetics. Citric acid and sodium benzoate are incredibly safe and found in several foods.

Overall, the formula is very safe, and free of harsh and irritating chemicals. Most of the formula is food-safe, and the others are found in several cosmetics. There are no added fragrances, flavor, sugars, parabens, enhancers, or other ingredients that may cause irritation.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of the lubricant is very similar to the feeling of natural vaginal lubrication. It isn't heavy, sticky, or greasy when first applied. It's velvety and silky. Overall, it has a similar viscosity to most water-based lubricants. It's halfway between a water and a thin gel-like consistency. The pump-top bottle allows for the lubricant to be dispensed very easily. It can be applied to a hand and rubbed onto the area or applied straight from the pump. As with most lubes, it can be a bit runny, but when applied it stays in the area of application without causing too much of a mess.

Taste / Aroma

Overall, this lube has an incredibly faint smell. Unlike other lubes which contain glycerin or other sugars, it does not have a sweet scent. The scent is so light that it is incredibly hard to even place. Consuming this lube is not suggested. It has a bitter, chemical taste that isn't pleasant in any way.

Performance

ID Moments Water-Based comes in three sizes: 2 oz, 4 oz, and 6.4 oz. Each of the bottles comes with a pump for easy dispensing of the desired amount of lubricant. When applied, the lubricant adds a wonderful amount of glide without being too slippery. It feels very natural when used for vaginal penetration and won't take away from the experience or feel too much like a lube. It does last for quite a while during any kind of play. Anal sex with this lubricant may need reapplication for desired long-lasting results, as it does not last as long as a silicone-based lubricant.

After play, this lubricant dries up or absorbs into skin without leaving behind any greasy or oily residue. It is slightly sticky when applied to the hands or on outer skin, but the feeling does quickly disappear. When used internally, the stickiness is much less apparent. It does not leave behind a feeling that it needs to be immediately washed off. If washing is necessary, it is easily cleaned up with soap and water or body wipes.

Packaging

The bottle does not come with a cap, but does have a locking mechanism in the pump. On the pump there is a little picture of a drop. To open the pump, turn it in the direction indicated by the drop. To lock it, twist in the opposite direction. The pump does not leak when pressed. If you are going to travel with this lube, it would be a good idea to place it in a plastic bag in case the pump gets twisted while in storage.

Experience

Overall, I feel like this is just a typical glycerin-free lubricant. I don't see anything overwhelmingly special about it. It's not the best one I've tried, but it's not the worst. I do appreciate the fact that it is "hypo-allergenic", as I sometimes have sensitivities to other lubes and have a rather delicate ecosystem. I did not experience any issues with this lubricant.
Follow-up commentary
I was never much of a fan of this lube to begin with, but it's good at what it does.

After I wrote the review, it just sat there collecting dust. I'm really picky when it comes to lubes. If I ever run out of one of my good ones, I may go back to using some of this, but I really don't anticipate that. I like thicker lubes that last a bit longer than this one. It's good, but I'm not crazy about it.
