Eyelash lace bustier - bustier discontinued by Coquette - review by Pete's Princess

This is listed as a bustier but it is really a corset. We will start at the top and work our way down. There are removable bra-like straps. The bustier is covered with a satiny reflective material. There are defined demi-cups that are covered with eyelash lace. Under the cups is an inverted triangle shaped eyelash lace overlay.


The body of the bustier shows the emerald green color . At the hips there are triangular shaped eyelash lace overlays. Down the front is 15 hook and eye closures with black trim. There are two rows of eyes to allow you to adjust the fit. On the back there are 13 metal grommets that black satin ribbon is laced through. This will enable you to cinch in the bustier. There is a privacy panel made of the emerald green satin material. There are six plastic boning pieces. Two in the front, two on each side and two in the back.


There are four removable garters. The garters and straps have plastic components.

Packaging
This has the old style of packaging from Coquette. It comes in a clear plastic bag/sleeve. The bag can be sealed again if desired. Through the clear plastic you can see the bustier on the wonderful black padded Coquette hanger. Attached to the bustier with a ribbon and safety pin is the hang tag. The hang tag shows the model wearing with a front view on the front. On the inside is photos of the model wearing it with both front and rear views. The back of the tag has the name of the product, color, size, model # and bar code. Mine did not come with the padded hanger mentioned by other reviewers.

Material & Care
Made of 100% Polyester exclusive of trim. Being a corset/bustier this needs to be treated much more delicately than other Polyester lingerie. If you do need to wash this you will want to use cold water and a delicate detergent. I would recommend removing the ribbon. With all lingerie with boning, I wash them in the tub as that is the only place long enough to fit the boning.

It is called a bustier but it is a corset. It is well made. The satin fabric is thick as is the black fabric on the inside. The boning seems to be well secured in the piece and does not want to poke through.

I was spilling out the top. The size chart is correct when it lists a C cup as the correct size. When I had the straps attached I did not fall out when bending over. The boning pieces did not cut into me when I moved or sat. The front middle is longer than the rest. When sitting the middle section did flip back upon itself when I was not wearing the garters. Otherwise this was very comfortable to wear. The cups are a bit pointy.

When putting this on alone, I found the privacy panel to be next to impossible to position correctly. The front hook and eye was very easy to hook together. That was definitely a blessing to get all those little hooks done on the first try. They stayed secure during the entre time I was wearing the bustier/corset.

I love the deep emerald color and the black eyelash lace overlay. Due to the thickness of the fabric and the dark colors, this is more suited to fall and winter months. The fabric is not stretchy.
