Satin lycra gloves - glove discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The Satin Lycra Gloves by Coquette are available in the colours black or red and in one-size-fits-most. I purchased the red pair since I have quite a few pairs of black gloves but no red ones (until now).

The gloves arrived in a plastic package with no photos or text on it. Each glove had a cardboard insert inside of it to keep it flat. I was surprised at how basic the packaging was. It doesn’t make a difference to me but it’s not typical for the company. The packaging is not ideal for storing the gloves but you could use the cardboard inserts if you wanted to. I just keep mine in a drawer. The inserts can be recycled.

These gloves are 88% nylon and 12% spandex. When I had read a review on the black pair, the material composition is listed differently. I’m not sure if there is a difference between the two colours or one of the tag inside of the gloves are incorrect. The gloves are stretchy in width and can be stretched slightly in length. The material is not sheer and it does not become sheer the more it is stretched.



I’ve taken a few measurements of the gloves laying flat, both stretched and unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please send me a message and I will get them for you.

Length (from top of finger to top of glove): 21 ¾ inches
Top of glove width unstretched: 4 inches
Top of glove width stretched as much as I could: 10 inches

Where the top of the gloves sits on your arms will depend on the length of your arms. When I am wearing the gloves, the top sits half way up my upper arm. The circumference of the area where the top of the gloves sat on me is 12 inches. The glove fit me well in this area and did not feel tight or uncomfortable.

When I had the gloves on, I tried stretching the top of the glove to see how much room was left and there was still quite a bit of room for those with larger upper arms. There is no elastic band at the top of the glove. What this means is that it won’t cut in to any extra arm chub (hallelujah!). This may be an issue for those with smaller than average arms since there is nothing to hold the top of the glove up with.



My wrist has a circumference of 6 inches and it fit me well in this area too. Like the top of the glove, it stretches so you should be fine wearing them if your wrists are slightly larger than mine. The fingers fit me nicely as well. The thumb was a bit odd with the way it is sewn at the top of it, but other than that it was fine.

I’m including the measurements of each finger on the glove that goes on the right hand. The measurements are with the glove laying flat and not stretched. The measurements were taken on the inside of each finger. This will help you figure out whether the finger area will be too short, too long, or just perfect for you.

The length of the thumb is 2 ¾ inches. The index finger (or pointer finger) is 3 inches long. The middle finger is 3 ¼ inches long. The ring finger is 3 inches long. Lasty, the pinky finger (or baby finger) is 2 3/8 inches long. Just remember that these measurements are with the material not being stretched. If your fingers are a bit longer, you can still fit them comfortably.

The quality of the gloves is good. There were no loose threads or uneven stitching to them. I found them very comfortable to wear and soft against the skin. I wouldn’t have any problem with wearing these gloves for an extended period of time.

The tag to the gloves did not have any care instructions on them. To be safe, I suggest hand washing the gloves and hanging them to dry. I’ll probably just put them in my lingerie bag and in the washer on cold. I’ll update the follow up review to let you know how it turns out.

Overall, I really like the gloves. They fit me nicely, the length is perfect for me, and they’re very comfortable to wear. The only thing that I could consider a con is the price because it is a bit high. If you find the price a bit high as well, you can wait until they are on sale or use a coupon code to order them.
