Corset with ruffled lace hem - corset discontinued by Coquette - review by Pete's Princess

This is an absolutely gorgeous bustier. This is the high quality that you would expect from Coquette. I have wanted this for a long time and today, I received it as a gift. I love purple and black. This is very classy and can be worn either in or out of the bedroom.

Design
I do not consider it to be a corset because it does not lace up in back. Instead of laces, it has 17 hook and eye closures down the back. There are two rows of eyes that are 1/2" apart to allow for sizing.

There are 10 boning pieces. The four in front and four in back are covered by purple fabric covered with a black lace. The two boning pieces on each side are covered in black. The top has a sweetheart design.

The bottom has a gathered purple mesh with a gathered black lace trim to give the bottom a finished look. There is a removable satiny 1 1/2" ribbon sash. This does not include an underwire or specific breast support. There is a 2" elastic piece sewn around the waist. The ribbon sash covers the stitching.

Packaging
This comes in a clear plastic sleeve that is resealable. The bustier is hung on one of Coquette's wonderful black padded hangers. There is a hangtag with a picture of the model wearing it and the style number and bar code. Who would not want such a wonderful bustier presented on a padded hanger? This just says classy and expensive gift.

Hand wash in cold water only. Hang to dry. As with all Nylon, you would not expose it to heat or iron it.

This is a wonderful bustier. It is slimming and holds you in, in all the right places. The elastic at the waist cinches you and the thick fabric and boning keep you well supported. It is comfortable to wear for an extended period. Check the length to be sure that it will work for your body. If it is too long, you will have the boning poking you if you sit.

I received a size Large. There is ample room for breasts from C to DD. As there is no underwire there is limited breast support. Being a D cup, I did find that there was enough support with the straps. Some may prefer to wear a bra under it if going out clubbing. I would not recommend for those smaller than a C cup as there would be looseness in the breast area.

I like that the top has the sweetheart design that draws attention to your breasts. I also like the purple sash and mesh and lace trim on the bottom.

One drawback was that the black fabric at the closure bleeds onto your hands. I did not notice any bleeding of color on to me when I had it on. This will likely go away after washing.
