We had seen it everywhere and every person who's sex positive we know has mentioned the Hitachi. One evening, we decided to take the plunge and order it. In a word: "wow!"

When it arrived, I could tell the packaging was designed some time ago, probably with introduction of the wand. It was a cardboard box with a picture of the wand on it, and was wrapped in plastic when we removed it from the box. The box is not ideal for storage and as we have a special drawer for our toys, we tossed the box.

The vibrating head of the wand is about 2" long with the rest of the handle connecting to the wand and all together the toy itself is just about a foot long. The electrical cord attached to the wand is about five (5) feet long, so if the distance of outlets is a problem as it is in our household I would recommend an extension cord. The wand does plug into the wall so this is not a toy that should be played with in water, near water or with water as you can be electrocuted.

There are two settings, low and high. You turn the wand on by flicking a switch, the middle position is off, one way is the low setting and one way is the high setting. The low setting is still very powerful. The high setting is too much stimulation for my wife to take. She refers to the settings as "Wow" for low and "Oh my God" for high. The vibrations are very intense and I would say that the first time user of vibrators would be scared to death. This is something my wife was still a little nervous about and we've been using vibrators for over eight (8) years now. The head of the wand is what vibrates and can stimulate large areas of your body. This wand is ideal for all parts of the body, but the wand itself should not be inserted at any point. There are attachments for insertion, but the wand itself, since it is plugged into the wall, should never be inserted.

Cleaning is a breeze with the wand. We mainly use toy wipes to give it a wipe down, and you can also use a wash cloth and some soap in the faucet as well. Do not clean this toy while plugged in because of the inherent dangers.

Another great benefit of this wand is that it is a tremendous in massage on other parts of the body, and I'm not meaning sexually. I have a back injury that flares up from time to time, and when it does my wife uses the wand on my back, which can greatly help relieve the pressure. My wife also has some quite severe menstrual cramps and during those times using the wand on the low setting on the lower part of her back can help with the cramps and pain.

Overall, it is a tremendous product that is well worth your investment.

What more can be said for the Hitachi? It certainly has enough power for just about anyone and is fantastic on massaging areas other than in just the pubic regions. My wife only uses this toy occasionally because she "doesn't want to be ruined for other toys." The power is fantastic and all of the attachments that can be used are really impressive. Popular this long for a reason.
