Have some inspired orgasms

Oh man, I think I'm in love. The Inspire is an amazing wand massager. It's compact, powerful, and allows for variations in power levels. The Pink Inspire even comes with two additional attachments. Now if only it were waterproof and whisper quiet, I'd never need anything else.

Use

The Couture Collection Pink Inspire is a wand massager from California Exotics. It is intended to be a body massager or clitoral stimulator. And stimulate it does! Wand massagers are notoriously powerful; this is no exception, just keep it to external stimulation. It is not meant for insertion without a proper attachment. The Pink Inspire includes two additional attachments, aside from the traditional rounded top, one of which is anal safe.

The Inspire works well as a body massager. Using the traditional rounded top, you can run it along any part of your body that is tense or tight. The Inspire allows you to vary the power of the vibrations, meaning you can have a light, rumbly body massage or a strong, fast massage that penetrates your deepest tissue.

The Inspire is absolutely not waterproof. There is no way you could use this in the shower or bathtub, unless of course you had a death wish. The fact that it is not waterproof can be kind of a drawback, especially if you’re a squirter. If you, like me, are a squirter, be sure to pull it away before any liquid makes its way into the internal workings or the electrical port.

Material / Texture

The Inspire is made of PU coated plastic and the attachments are made of pure silicone. The PU coated plastic is phthalate free and incredibly smooth. The PU coat gives it a velvety texture. The plastic parts of the Inspire are not meant to come in contact with the body. Rather, the silicone attachments are what you’re supposed to use to make you happy. The silicone is non-porous, latex free, phthalate free, and can be fully sanitized. It is safe to use the silicone attachments with a partner. The silicone attachments are actually rather firm and smooth with very little drag. The trident attachment has very little give to the insertable portion and the two prongs are flexible but have no squish to them. I was surprised the silicone was so firm but I really enjoy firm materials so this was a pleasant surprise for me. Those who prefer softer materials for insertion will not be pleased with the firmness of the trident attachment.

Design / Shape / Size

The Inspire is shaped like a traditional wand massager but much smaller. It resembles a microphone. I do not own a Hitachi but other reviewers have posted comparison photos of the two massagers; the Inspire is much much smaller. This is great for those who want the power of a wand without all of the bulk and weight. The handle of the massager is only 5.5 inches long. At its widest part, the handle is only 5 inches in circumference. It’s about the size of an average dildo. The head of the massager with the traditional rounded top is 1.5 inches long and 5 inches in circumference. Between the handle and the head is a flexible neck. The neck is only a quarter inch long. In total, the Inspire is a mere 7.5 inches long. According to the Hitachi’s product page, it is a whopping 12 inches long. The Inspire is easy to hold for long periods of time and it’s easy to maneuver. The power cord plugs into the bottom of the handle as opposed to being attached to the wand itself. This may give the impression that it is rechargeable but it is not. There is a small, red indicator light that will let you know when it is plugged in and ready for use. The power cord that attaches to the base of the handle is roughly 98 inches long so it is a little over 8 feet. This means you can be a fairly good distance away from an outlet when using this wand.

Size

The rounded top that comes on the Inspire can be removed and one of the included attachments can be placed on the top. Do not use the Inspire without a silicone top! The first attachment that comes with the Inspire Pink is a two pronged attachment that resembles bunny ears. Each prong is a little over 1.25 inches long. They are approximately half an inch apart. This attachment can be used clitorally by placing one prong on either side of the clitoris. It also works wonderfully on the nipples. The prongs are flexible and can be pinched together for a tighter “pinching” stimulation or pushed apart for a broad stimulation effect. My partner enjoys when I use this attachment, spread apart, on his penis. By spreading the prongs apart, I can run this along his penis, providing broad stimulation. My partner also likes using this attachment on me by placing one prong at the entrance of my vagina and the other on my clitoris.

Details

The second attachment is a trident shaped piece that is designed for insertion. The large, middle bulb is 3 inches long and 4 inches in circumference. The large, firm bulb can provide G-spot stimulation to some women, depending on their anatomy. There is a separate attachment you can purchase for the Inspire that is meant exclusively for G-spot stimulation. There are two other prongs on either side of the middle bulb that are meant to stimulate the clitoris and the anus. The prongs are flexible and can be bent to reach all of the right spots. These smaller prongs are 1.5 inches long. They bend away from the middle bulb so it is difficult to measure the distance between the prongs and the bulb.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Oh boy, performance...This wand is powerful! It’s easily a solid five vrooms at it’s highest setting. Power queens will not be disappointed by this petite wand. The power level is adjustable, which is really nice if you want more than the two settings offered by the Hitachi. The Inspire is turned on by pressing the single button on the handle. To increase the power, you simply hold the button down and the Inspire slowly increases in power. The increases in power aren’t like preset levels where you jump from one power level to the next. Instead, it goes from low to high and hits every power increment in between. To turn off the Inspire, you just hit the button one more time. You don’t have to cycle back down to turn it off, which is really nice if you need to shut it off quickly. However, this feature can get annoying if you’re trying to turn it up and you release the power button too quickly.

With great power comes great noise. That’s probably the biggest downfall of the Inspire. It’s quite loud. It’s definitely the loudest vibrator I own. It’s something that is reserved for times when my roommate is out of the house. It is relatively quiet when it is on its lower levels of power but once you start hitting higher power levels, it can be heard through a closed door or two. When I turn this up from low to high, it reminds me of a car revving up. It starts out quiet and slow and then holy crap it’s ready to go! I’ve used this in my upstairs bedroom and my partner could hear it downstairs in the living room. Granted, we have a small house with thin walls and floors, but that’s still pretty loud.

One other downfall of the Inspire is how quickly it heats up. The instructions say to not use this for more than 20 minutes at one time. The handle begins heating up after only 5 minutes of use. WIth such power, however, I rarely need to use it long enough for it to get uncomfortably warm. Those who prefer to use it longer will notice that it may get to be too warm to comfortably hold.

Care and Maintenance

The handle and underlying plastic dome can be spot cleaned with damp rag or a toy wipe. I would not put this under running water. The attachments can be removed for cleaning and are safe to place under running water. You can use soap and water, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. Since the attachments are made of silicone, the attachments can be removed and sanitized. You can boil them in a pot of water to sanitize them. I’d recommend sanitizing them if you plan on using this on a partner or if you plan to use the trident attachment for both anal and vaginal penetration.

Storing the Inspire may be difficult. The packaging is not the best for storage. You can store the wand, power cord, and attachments together in a plastic bag, toy pouch, or storage container to keep them together. It would really suck to lose the power cord! I always make sure to keep my power cords and chargers together with the toy they belong to.

Packaging

The Inspire comes packaged in the cheap plastic packaging I’ve come to expect from Cal Exotics. It’s transparent so it is not discreet in the least bit. It does have a plastic tray inside that holds the wand, attachments, and power cord so they’re not rolling around loose. I do still use the original packaging for storage just because it’s convenient but the sharp plastic is a pain in the butt.

Experience

So basically I love this thing. Plain and simple. If it were waterproof and quieter, it’d be my favorite thing ever. This is right behind my Salsa as my most used vibrator. I love that I can adjust the power level so much. I can never use this on high but somewhere between high and low seems perfect for me most days. I originally chose this wand because of its smaller size and multiple attachments. Wands never appealed to me much because I like pinpoint stimulation. The two prong attachment that comes with the Inspire is perfect for pinpoint stimulation. The trident attachment is also a lot of fun to use for triple stimulation. However, with a broader surface area, the vibrations aren’t as strong and concentrated as they are with the other two attachments. This is to be expected but it still kind of sucks. My partner absolutely loves using this with me. This is the one vibrator that can make me squirt every single time. Every. single. time. If you’re looking for a powerful wand that’s smaller than the Hitachi and offers pinpoint stimulation, get the Inspire.
