Liv - g-spot vibrator discontinued by LELO - review by charletnarouh

Liv is a beautiful g-spot vibrator made by Lelo. She is perfect for this purpose and also works very well as a clitoral vibrator. I should point out that I'm built very small with a very shallow g-spot so this toy works PERFECTLY for my body. She's short and not very thick, which are bonuses to me but could easily be negatives for others. The curve on her is perfect and very comfortable. She's perfectly smooth with no seams anywhere on it. Seams on expensive, "luxury" toys are a HUGE turn off for me and Lelo toys are always perfectly seamless and beautifully crafted and Liv is no exception. In theory there's not much of a reason why you couldn't use this toy as an anal vibrator, but be careful since there's not an actual stop or flare to it that would prevent it from going too deep and getting lost, though if you're holding on to it, you should be fine.

Like many of Lelo's toys, Liv is half silicone, half ABS plastic. The silicone is velvety smooth and has a great texture. Lelo's silicone is my favorite of all the silicone toys I've tried. It has no taste or smell. Because she's silicone, don't use silicone lubes or other products with her and don't store her in contact with other silicone toys as it could damage the material. The silicone is food safe, body safe, non-porous and phthalates free. AWESOME! The silicone can have a bit of a drag to it so water-based lube is highly recommended.

As I already mentioned, the size and shape are absolutely perfect for me. The curve hits my g-spot just right. The size is not too girthy or too long, but if those are things you like in your toy, the size may disappoint you. In addition to the curve along the length of this toy, she also has a subtle tapering to a narrow waist, which for me is a huge bonus. What this does for me is allow me to take my hand away and she won't slip out. The insertable portion of the toy is made of silicone while the handle is ABS plastic, separated by a silver plastic band. I try to not insert her too far since I worry about the joint between the plastic and the silicone getting dirty and cleaning that would be tricky since Liv is not waterproof. She comes with a white satin pouch for storage which I love. I wouldn't have any problems travelling with her but it's pretty obvious what she is, so if you don't want the person x-raying your luggage to know you have a vibrator with you, probably best to leave her at home.

The controls on her remind me of an iPod or other similar device. It's a circle with 4 directional buttons. + button turns it on and turns up the speeds, - button turns down and off. There are 7 levels of vibration The up and down arrow buttons scroll through the vibration patterns. Patterns are constant vibration, slow, medium, a quick pulse and a rolling wave. The first level of vibration I can barely feel, but at the 7th, she's too strong for me. But she's by no means a power house. The vibrations are nice and rumbly, which I like. She's very quiet. Can't even hear it up close to my ear on the lowest speeds and can't hear it under the blankets at the higher speeds. She comes with a power adapter to recharge. It takes 2 hours to recharge and I get several play sessions to a charge. The led light around the control pad blink when she's fully charged and it turns red when she's low on battery.

I keep mine in her satin pouch inside her box. I use an antibacterial toy cleaner and rinse with warm water and dry with a towel. Soap and water works too. She's not waterproof though so don't get water in the charging port. I try to avoid water on the plastic part because I don't want it to get into the dial or spaces between the plastic and the silicone.

Lelo's packaging is BEAUTIFUL. The outer cardboard box has a picture of her on it and some info. Taking that off, inside is a beautiful sturdy black box suitable for storage. It has a molded plastic piece that Liv sits in and a compartment for the charger. If giving this as a gift, I would recommend removing the outer box for discretion but the inner box would make a perfect gift box.

Being someone who has never been much on toys for solo play and historically not a huge fan of things that vibrate, I can't explain what possessed me one day to decide I NEEDED a vibrator. Whatever it was, this suddenly became very important to me and I set about, in my typical obsessive fashion, to research vibrators. I've never much cared for vibrations in general so I knew I didn't want something super strong and I wanted an internal vibrator not a clitoral. I kind of wanted something that had a taper or bulb to it so that I wouldn't always have to have my hand on it to keep it inside me. I researched several models and ended up purchasing this one. Not only has she completely changed my mind about vibrators in general, she has changed my mind about vibrations on my clit! This toy is a perfect fit for me and she is my new best friend. Well worth the purchase price as I'm now firmly convinced that my previous dislike of vibrators was a dislike of CHEAP vibrators!

I love this toy. I really, really do. I'm certain now that Liv has made me a believer in vibrators, that I'll have others I love, but my Liv will always have a special place in my heart. For 9 years or so I believed I didn't like things that vibrate! She has seriously changed my sex life. It's not necessarily because she's anything truly special on her own. As many, many people have noted, she's not especially strong, though too strong for me on her highest setting, and she's not a particularly mind-blowing shape. The gist of it, I think, especially as I continue my foray into the world of vibrators, is that she is a very high quality toy. What she does, she does well. Top notch material, lovely texture, very pleasant vibration frequency, comfortable non-threatening shape. She's just a beautiful little package. I think one of the best features about this toy is her control pad being so easy to manipulate and so intuitive. You really don't need an instruction manual for this toy or a month playing with it to figure out how to use it. What has really surprised me is her battery life. I've been afraid she would die on me at an inopportune moment but I decided I needed to see how long she would last, both to know for myself and to include in this review, rather than protectively trying to keep her charged, which, incidentally, is also usually bad for rechargeable batteries! Well, I still haven't killed her and I've used her A LOT, sometimes over an hour at a time, put her away, taken her back out again as much as a few days later and turned her on to have her start buzzing happily. It's been weeks since I charged her! I keep waiting to take her out and have her little dial turn red to indicate she's out of battery but it hasn't happened yet. I think it's going to take me a while to get a handle on how long she'll last on a charge. I know, I know she's expensive for a first toy, or a beginner toy, but if you can possibly afford it, splurge. Everyone always advises, play with cheap toys to learn what you like before you invest but I disagree. While Liv might not be everything you want in a toy and more, I think it's very unlikely you'll end up hating her. If you KNOW what you need and this isn't going to provide it, fine. If you don't KNOW, try her out. I really think you'll learn more about what you like from a high quality toy than a cheap one you're probably going to throw away, or worse, be like me and think that you just don't like vibrators and swear off them for 9 years! I think you'll get some mileage out of this even if it doesn't turn out to totally be your cup of tea.
