Fairy miniature - massager discontinued by Media Craft Inc - review by idunshire

I was drawn to this toy originally because I wanted a massager that wasn't as massive as my Hitachi Magic Wand or that Wahl 2-Speed but still packed some punch. Marketed as a massager, The Fairy Miniature (or Minimini as it actually says on the toy) is fine for soothing sore muscles, but its small head and heavy vibrations make it one hell of a clit vibe.

While not insertable, The Fairy has a bendable neck and petite body for easy maneuvering during intercourse. Many bigger massagers are heavy and bulky so they get in the way of thrusting, but not The Fairy Miniature. Easily held and controlled in one hand, this toy is perfect for couple play (or dual stimulation during solo play). Because the toy is made of body-safe, non-porous plastic, you don’t have to worry about getting the wrong kind of lube on it; you can just click it on and get on with your business.

This toy shouldn’t be used for more than 20 minutes at a time due to its tendency to overheat, but I am willing to overlook that for the convenience its small size brings.

This tiny toy provides intense stimulation with super ease of use, and I can see it being a permanent fixture in my toy box (until it burns out, then I will probably be repurchasing).

The Fairy Miniature is made from non-porous plastic which makes it body safe, and you can use any type of lube that strikes your fancy with it.

The head of The Fairy Miniature has a bit of a velvet texture, but nothing that causes a noticeable drag. The ribbing on the base of the head gives slight texture, but when this toy is cranked up all the way, it's the last thing that you are noticing. The texture of the scroll wheel is great for when your hands are a little slippery and you have problems getting a grip to adjust the vibrations

When I first opened the box I noticed a faint plasticy-kid's-toy kind of smell, but that went away after cleaning.

This toy is like getting the power of a Hitachi (almost) in something the size of a small TV remote! The Fairy Miniature is very small and incredibly lightweight when you compare it to other powerful massagers like the Wahl or Hitachi. This small size and detachable parts make this toy very travel-friendly. You could easily fit this in a purse or carry-on luggage.

The pink fairies on the toy are cute if that's your thing, but I would have preferred a solid color.

While I love how small, lightweight, and easy-to hold The Fairy Miniature is, I have some MAJOR problems with the design of the battery box. The 6 batteries needed are inserted three on one side of the box and three on the other. Getting one side to stay in place and not pop out while you're putting in the other is pretty frustrating. The battery box cover that actually keeps the batteries in place is impossible to get off if you click it completely shut. I don't know if there is some trick to sliding the box off but, I CANNOT get the cover off without having to pull on the cord that attaches to it (which will obviously break the cord after awhile). When I use the battery box I only slide it on part-way and make sure I don't completely close it.

The scroll wheel on The Fairy Miniature is an absolute godsend. The scroll wheel is very easy to use; start turning and it clicks on, keep turning and the power increases. There is no awkward low-pause-high function that other massagers have. The vibrations are concentrated in the head of The Fairy, but since it's such a small toy, the vibrations travel through the rest of it, leading to awkward numb-hand if you use it too long.

The lowest settings are rumbly and moderately loud while the highest settings are buzzy, powerful, and shockingly loud. This is not a toy you can discreetly use. Through blankets, through a door, across the hall...this toy is going to be heard. The highest setting can definitely be a little numbing, but it’s great when you are pressed for time or want a really fast, intense orgasm. With this toy you really do need to have a FAST orgasm because The Fairy Miniature heats up quite quickly. Every time I’ve used it I’ve found that it is warm and smells a bit like burning rubber. This seems to be a common occurrence with The Fairy Miniature. I’m not too worried about it conking out anytime soon. I’ve had mine for a good year and it is still going strong with no difference from when I first got it.

This toy is a total battery killer if you don't use the AC adapter (and I don't, the cord is way too short to function for me). I strongly suggest two sets of rechargeable batteries (You need SIX AA batteries for this!).

This toy is not at all water-proof so you definitely have to do some careful cleaning. (I am actually only assuming this, because of the lack of English on the packaging. The screws in the head of this product seem like they are susceptible to rusting so I, personally, wouldn't take the chance with a trip to the sink.) Because it is made of a non-porous plastic, I feel comfortable just spraying it with toy cleaner after using it.

I always make sure to disconnect and disassemble The Fairy Miniature so there are no accidents involving the jack breaking off or any of the cords fraying. This toy gets very hot if you use it for longer than is advised, so let it cool down a bit before you put it away with your other, more fragile toys.

The packaging was cute but with a clear window of the toy, not at all subtle. Because this is made by a Japanese company, all of the instructions are in Japanese. If you are a stickler for reading and following factory directions, I would advise you to look elsewhere.
