We practice double penetration a LOT (at least 4 or 5 times a week) and we almost always keep the dil or vibrator still, while he does the work of penetrating with movement.

When it's two living humans thrusting, they have a better idea of what is going on by the woman's response, and their own response but trying to MOVE a dildo while you are thrusting with your penis is going to be damn hard.
