Plug won't stay in... what should I do?

Contributor: Taselarya Taselarya
I apologize if this is in the wrong place or has been asked before (I tried to do a search but came up empty). The situation: I have a small butt plug (akin to the Plug of Lust small) that I would like to be able to keep in for at least short periods of time.

I can get it in fine. The problem is that it won't STAY in. It stays in for a little bit, but then it ends up coming out (an interesting feeling, but not really what I'm going for in this particular instance). I'm not doing it on purpose, so my question is how can I avoid this? Are you actually able to teach your muscles to keep it in? Or is there just not being enough difference between the narrowest and widest parts of the plug?

I'm willing to look into getting another one, but I have a few conditions I want it to satisfy. Not too big, stays in, and has some sort of small unobtrusive ring on the end to which I can attach something. I was looking at the Velvet Plush Teaser but was worried I would end up having the same problem I had with my first one. Any advice either in general or with respect to the Velvet Plush Teaser? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone ever tried a dog tail anal plug? Was it made of some type of fur or was the tail silicone also?

Looking for a plug that will stay in place during intercourse
My fiance and I love how sex feels with a dildo or plug in my butt. But I hate having to hold it in or feeling a plug slipping out. I got the colt set

Anal Plugs
Ok so I have never been into anal play but I was wondering what the anal plug is used for?

Have you ever lost a toy or had one break in your butthole?
I have not but it is a fear of mine.

Sounds like the plug isn't the right shape for your body. I would recommend looking into the Mood Naughty plugs. They are small (even the large) and the shape is very good. I haven't had any issues with them not staying in.

I agree with beck, try the Love Pacifier beginner or the Love Pacifier advanced respectively. The have the proper shape with a very thin neck and a bigger bulb, designed to stay in

As said above, there a number of options. What I have found with anal play and plugs is that some fit better than others depending on your body type and preferences. Some people want the longer neck of something like the
Pink Ripple whereas others want a shorter neck and a wider base like the Velvet Plush Pleaser. From my experience, the Mood Naughty Small is a great place to start as the neck is semi long, narrow but wide base to fit well between your cheeks, and small enough for beginners but will stay put!

Above all, have fun experimenting with what works for your own body

I too have had issues with some of them not staying in. You have to play with them and see which works for you!

To have a plug that stays in you want to look at two things: First, the difference between the neck diameter and the body diameter needs to be enough - look for over 1/2" of difference.

Second, the neck needs to be long - like 3/4" to 1" long. If the neck isn't long enough to go all the way through the anal canal the body of the plug will be holding your internal sphincter open and it's much harder to keep the plug in when that happens. If the neck is long enough then the body is comfortably in the rectum.
