Spur VixSkin - realistic dildo discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by Kayla

The VixSkin Spur is a small-sized dildo that works well for anal use or for those who enjoy smaller-diameter dildos. It's made from VixSkin which is a type of realistic silicone. The dildo is about five inches long with a diameter of less than an inch (until the base which is thicker). The EF real-size widget is very accurate (and look at it before purchase!) and the Vanilla color in the pictures is accurate.

The packaging for this Vixen Creations dildo is the same as other Vixen Creations products. It comes in a plastic, cylindrical tube with two lids on either side. The lid on top can be easily removed in order to grab at the Spur dildo. It does not come with any instructions, and the packaging works well for storage if you are okay with the larger size of the package than the dildo itself.

VixSkin is a pretty amazing material. I've become very fond of it ever since my first adventure into it with the Maverick. Now, I've purchased the Mustang, and now I also received the Spur for review. In comparison, the larger dildos have a lot more of the dual-core feeling going on. You can feel the dual-core with the Spur, but it is not nearly as plush as the Maverick was. It's mostly squishy around the head with a slight bit of squish around the body, but it's not nearly as plushy as the Maverick or other larger VixSkin dildos are.

Something of note that you NEED to take note of: This dildo is TINY! Do not expect it to be a full-size dildo! The product pictures can make it seem like it is, but it is not. That is also exactly why I ordered it. Most realistic dildos are too large for us for regular anal use, but the Spur is just perfect for regular anal use while still having that realistic-look and the VixSkin feel. It's near-impossible to find another small-diameter, small-length dildo that is realistic in look as well as realistic in the material.

I think the main use for this dildo, for most people, would probably be anal sex use. It's small enough to be an okay-size for most anal sex adventures while still looking realistic. However, I can definitely see this being a good choice vaginally for those who are not comfortable with larger-diameter dildos or medically need to work their way up to taking in a larger-size for vaginal insertion. Those would be great uses for this dildo as well. For us, though, we just used it anally on him.

For anal sex, it works well. The length is a bit short for regular harness use (and for some positions), but it does work well in a harness. For anal use, you do have to be a bit patient. Because the head of the Spur is the squishiest and most flexible part of the dildo, it can take a bit of effort and positioning in order to get the dildo to slide in anally. It does require more lubricant than you're probably used to because of the squishy, absorbant material, but it does feel very comfortable and very natural in the butt. The material is flexible enough to make it feel natural as a warm-up anal toy, and if you're a beginner, it'll work great as the main course. I can see this possibly being too slim of a toy if you're used to taking much larger though.

I have to say that I'm not fond of the thickness of the base for harness use. While this dildo is pretty small and light-weight, the base is about a half-inch thick which makes it a big overkill for the weight the base needs to support. This isn't a huge issue, but it can make things feel a little tight in your harness depending on your harness. I use the Spareparts Joque, and it does make things a bit tighter. It's not uncomfortable, but it's a noticable difference compared to other, small-base dildos.

Cleaning the Spur is very easy. This dildo is only compatible with water-based lubricant, and for cleaning, use warm water and antibacterial soap. It can be boiled for sterilization if you want to use it with multiple partners. This material does tend to pick up lint and hair pretty easily, so I recommend keeping it stored in the original packaging or at least out of regular movement.

Overall, we really love the VixSkin Spur. While it has the same size and specs as some of our anal dildos, this one is realistic and has the interesting material of VixSkin. There are a couple color choices, and the small diameter and length make this an optimal all-the-time anal toy for us.

This is STILL our absolute favorite anal dildo! We have larger toys that we "upgrade" to when we're doing anal regularly, but if time passes without any anal fun, we always come back to this one because it's small enough to be pleasurable while not being so large that it's uncomfortable for use after a time of not doing any anal. The toy still looks brand new (even after insanely frequent use), and it holds up amazingly well. As long as you soak the dildo after every use, it seems to avoid holding onto any scents, and the material feels just as luscious as when we first got it.
