Spur VixSkin - realistic dildo discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by Mr. & Mrs. Peg

When we started pegging, we sort of jumped in with a large diameter dildo. This was more a choice of dildo style than a choice of girth. I wanted a realistic dildo and all the realistic dildos seemed to have a realistic (or more than realistic!) girth. Everything that was moderately slim was just a shaft with a rounded tip. Very functional, but they lack that fantasy element that I was looking for. Enter the VixSkin Spur. It's everything a fantasy-minded beginner could want in a realistic dildo!

The Spur measures about 1 and 1/8 inches in diameter. The insertable length is little more than 4.75 inches long. It is sculpted to have a very realistic look. The head has a pronounced rim and frenulum cleft. There is a ridge running down the underside of the dildo and a bulging vein along its topside. There are even some foreskin folds near the head. Keeping with its realistic appearance there is a slight upward curve of the shaft. The only thing missing are the balls.


VixSkin is made from the highest quality silicone. Unlike a lot of other silicone products, VixSkin has amazing texture that is soft, very flexible and has a lifelike feel. Because it is so soft, it has a tendency to be very floppy. On its own, this makes it perfect for packers, but not so great for insertable toys. Vixen adds a firm core to its insertable dildos to keep them erect. This enhances the realistic feel of this dildo. It allows it to have some flexibility and sway a little bit, just like a real cock.


The Spur is very well-suited for use as a pegging dildo. The wide flared base, like the shaft, also has a firm core. This allows it to be held firmly by an o-ring. It also works very well in harnesses with an elastic o-ring like those made by SpareParts HardWear (see the Theo, Joque, and the Deuce). Because it is flexible, beginners will find it very comfortable. The key, however, is not to pull the Spur out too far; otherwise it could bend during thrusting. And, if you are into fellatio play like we are, the Spur's length makes it possible to deep throat. This was a first for us.


Don't feel limited, though. The VixSkin Spur isn't just a beginner's pegging dildo. We found it is also great for double penetration fantasies. As an anal toy it isn't so big that it is distracting or overwhelming, which really increased Mrs. Peg's pleasure. The wide base also makes it very easy to hold onto and control. However, because of its small size, as a vaginal toy it might be less than exciting for most users.


Because VixSkin is made from premium silicone, the Spur can be cleaned up very easily. It can be sanitized by soaking in a bleach solution, boiled in water or even by throwing it in your dishwasher. Once cleaned properly, it can be shared between partners or orifices. It also responds well to temperature play.


However you choose to play with the VixSkin Spur, you can be sure of its quality. Vixen has made the Spur to the same high standards as all of their other products. With proper care this toy should provide years of enjoyment. Like all silicone toys, it should be kept away from other toys that might leach their color into it. It also should be kept away from anything sharp. Finally, be sure to only use water-based lubes, as silicone lubes will destroy it. Other than that, have fun and enjoy!

We have actually found this to be very useful in our Deuce Harness. Of the dildos we have, its size is the best suited for DP'ing Mrs. Peg while the real me is in her pussy. Most of our other dildos are too big for prolonged anal play for her.
