Neo - advanced butt plug discontinued by Tantus - review by Supervixen

The Neo anal plug from Tantus is my first plug and I couldn't have made a better choice with introducing myself to the wonderful world of plugs. Suited for beginners and experienced anal toy users alike, Neo can be used for solo sessions as well as with partners. Its size and shape are perfect for safe, pleasurable play, and it is a very sleek, non-threatening toy. With a flared base and made of flexible silicone that fits the contours of your anatomy, this plug is sure to be a fun toy for those of us who enjoy anal stimulation.

Neo is made out of 100% waterproof silicone, is phthalate free, latex free, hypoallergenic, and is totally non-porous. Upon removing it from its packaging, I was delighted to feel the velvety finish of the material, and I knew immediately that it was going to feel really good to play with. It's firm but flexible, and feels satisfyingly filling when inserted, but it moves with you at the same time. Sitting down, walking, and a whole variety of positions are comfortable while wearing it, and because the texture is so soft and forgiving, wearing it for a long period of time is not only easy, but really quite pleasurable. The material and texture is another aspect of Neo that makes it a perfect beginners plug, and a great plug for more advanced users who like their anal toys to have some give and not be too rigid.

The tapered, torpedo design of Neo is perfect for a plug, and is totally non-threatening in both its shape and size. Its taper starts out small and gradual enough to make insertion easy, and there is no sudden stretch when you get to its full girth. Once it is inserted it stays snugly put, and I've had no problems with it slipping or moving around during use. The measurements of Neo are as follows:

As you can see, the base has plenty of flare and I love the way that it's shaped. Taking the plug out is easy, even when it and your fingers are slick with lube. I had no concerns about the flare being too small, and could tell when I first held it that it is a perfectly safe toy; if you're nervous about anal toys slipping in too far and making retrieval a possibly embarrassing outing to the emergency room, rest assured, this is not an issue with Neo.

While Neo is small enough and the matte black color makes it easy to disguise in a piece of luggage for travel, the shape is not so discreet; it is unmistakably a butt plug. I'd still travel with it (and in fact, I intend to) because it's small and not brightly colored. At home, simply hide it away from prying eyes like you would any other non-discreet toy.

The flare of Neo's base is not round and does not go all around the toy, so it is not a harness compatible toy, but that's not the best intended use for it anyway. As someone who enjoys anal play but is still fairly new to it, I love how filling it is once inserted. Because it stays put, it is an incredibly versatile toy that can be used for solo play and couple's play as well. It can be used to help stretch the wearer prior to anal sex, which is a good way to ease someone new to the world of anal pleasure. If you enjoy double penetration with a partner, Neo is filling enough to use for such a purpose, but not too big to be uncomfortable for those who don't enjoy an excessive amount of filling. When coupled with a clitoral vibrator, the orgasm I was able to acheive was intense and pleasurable; I loved the feeling of it inside of me as I reached climax, feeling my muscles clench around the luxurious, velvety silicone. With a good amount of lube, relaxed muscles, and a bit of patience, the sensations that Neo can add to your sexual adventures are wonderfully varied, and who doesn't like variety?

Care and maintenance for Neo is simple. Because it's a non-porous toy made of silicone, it can be cleaned and sanitized with hot water and anti-bacterial soap, a good toy cleanser, bleaching, or even boiling water. Silicone toys are not compatible with silicone based lubes, but they work perfectly with water based lubes. When cleaning anal toys, use common sense. They need to be cleansed and sanitized after each use in order to be used safely. Storage is also easy since Neo isn't terribly big and obtrusive. I keep mine wrapped up in a handkerchief and tucked away in my underwear drawer. The packaging it comes in can also be used for storage, though the box is a little too bulky for me, and will take up more room if you do keep it for such purposes. Just make sure that wherever you keep it, that it's clean each time for use.

Neo comes packaged in a plastic, recyclable package that clearly shows the toy and boasts that Tantus makes "the world's best soft toy for adults." Needless to say, the packaging is not discreet. However, I do appreciate that the packaging is informative and lists all of Neo's traits as a totally safe, non-toxic toy, and provides the company's website for care and cleaning instructions. The plug itself is molded into a plastic sheath inside of the box which could be used for storage but again, it's too bulky for me.

As I've said, Neo is my first plug. I got it almost the same time that I got the Sexy Spades medium sized glass plug which is relatively larger and not nearly as forgiving as Neo is due to the fact that it's made of a rigid glass. Neo has proven to be a great warm up toy for larger plugs such as the Sexy Spades, which adds to its versatility. If you want to experiment with larger plugs once you get used to the smaller size of the Neo, then Neo is a great place to start. Here it is compared to Sexy Spades (medium):



As you can see, the girth of Neo is much more forgiving than the girth of the medium sized Sexy Spades plug!

I have yet to use the Neo during partner play due to my long distance relationship, but I am very much looking forward to using it for those purposes in the near future, and will provide a follow-up review when I get to test it out. However, I have paired it with vaginally inserting a vibrator, and I can tell that it's sure to be a fun, pleasurable experience for both me and my partner. If you are interested in double penetration, Neo is a gentle plug to start with anally, and because of its flexibility, it makes a variety of positions possible to use with it. So far, for solo purposes, I'm more than happy with this plug and it is sure to get a lot of use from here on out.
