This ball gag is great to use on that special someone when you need a little peace and quiet. Never tried a ball gag before? If you are not sure if you like ball gags yet, you may want to start with a breathable style ball gag such as this one or this one. These are lightweight, inexpensive, and have holes drilled into to ball to making breathing easy with one in (hence the name). The downside is that they are made of lesser quality materials and thus flimsier. There are also some less expensive ball gags on the market that are made of rubber instead of silicone or plastic. Although they cost less, I would advise against these, since they have an unpleasant odor and taste that can be a big turn off. However, if you already know that you don't mind rubber, go for it.

That being said, if you know you enjoy ball gags and are ready to add a lovely and high quality one to your collection, then I would definitely recommend this one. It can be used by beginners and advanced users alike and has several good features which I will discuss in detail. The Aslan Silicone Ball Gag is just an all-around great choice.

The Aslan Silicone Ball Gag is constructed of leather straps, a silicone ball, and silver colored hardware. (Not into leather? There is also a eco-friendly nylon version of this item, which can be found at the bottom of the review.)

The leather straps measure 22" long, 3/4" wide, and 1/8" thick. The 8 notches in the strap allow accommodation for sizes of 15" to 20". Each notch is 3/4" apart from the next. The leather is soft to the touch and is texturized for visual appeal. Stitches in the leather are clean and even, with no loose threads. An Aslan Leather tag is sewn into the buckle end on the inside of the item.


The ball gag is made of silicone. This is a 10/10 on the safety scale. It is non-porous, which makes it completely disinfectable. The ball has 1 1/2" diameter and 5 1/2" circumference. The holes on either side are about 1/2" in diameter. There is a visible seam down the center of the ball. I did not notice it while using this product. There is no odor or taste to the silicone ball.

The hardware is not marked, I am guessing nickel maybe? On the outer straps, there are rivets where the material wraps around the D rings and also the buckle. However, on the center strap, there are 2 snaps on either side connecting it to the D rings instead of rivets. This makes the center portion detachable. The snaps are imprinted underneath with "SELEX" and stars.

I found this item to be very easy to use. First of all, the straps are soft and comfortable. There were no rough edges pressing into my cheeks. The thinner width of the straps also made it less sweaty to wear for extended periods. I think the size range is good as well. I am an average sized woman and I wore this item on the third to last hole, so I think it will fit a lot of people both larger and smaller than I am.

I did have mixed feelings on the ball portion. I loved that it was taste and odor free. I loved the smooth texture and the size was perfect. I was able to pop the ball into my mouth easily and was quite comfortable. However, I have to say that I was not crazy about all the slobber this gag causes. Unlike a breathable ball gag, which helps to keep the mouth dry, I was drooling all over this thing. My partner really didn't mind, but it was somewhat of a discomfort and distraction to me. I think that my solution will be to take a breathable ball off of a cheaper gag which I disliked and mix and match it with the lovely leather straps of this gag. That way I can have the best of both worlds.

Personally, I would have liked this item even better if it had the ability to be locked. If used in conjunction with locking cuffs, it really won't matter because the person wearing it won't be able to undo it anyway. However, if you wanted to use the item alone or with just a leash, escape could definitely be an issue.

The Aslan Silicone Ball Gag comes with a simple care tag attached. It should be cleaned with dish soap or leather cleaner and a damp rag. Too much water will ruin the leather. Then pat it dry right after washing it. It needs to be stored in a dry place as well, and also out of direct sunlight. Leather conditioner should be applied sporadically to keep the leather nice and soft. The care tag also suggests using clear nail polish to keep the metal portions from tarnishing.

This item does give you the ability to remove the ball gag. I did this the first time I cleaned it. However, I ended up really regretting it since it is REALLY hard to get the leather strap back through the ball after. The strap and snaps are a bit too wide and worse, the leather really drags against the silicone. I would recommend only removing it on occasion or for ball replacement.

The silicone ball does attract lint, so make sure to clean it before and after using. As with all silicone items, do not store it touching other silicone toys or let it come into contact with any silcone lubricant.

This item did not arrive in any packaging other than a plastic bag. Definitely minimal and definitely not at all discreet. Since the bag is resealable, it may be used for storage if so desired.

My partner and I employed this gag along with leather cuffs, an under the bed kit, and a paddle. It fit seamlessly into our routine and I love that it comes in all black because it matches my other things. My partner cuffed me to the bed in a black babydoll and high heels. Of course, I had to put up a bit of a fight because I never like to make it too easy on him. This is when he brought out the paddle for a little reminder on why I should behave myself. After he buckled me in, I tried to be good (really I did!)...but I must admit that after a little while I may have talked back a little. That's when he proceeded to bend me over and gag me. Now, I love the feeling of a gag in my mouth during sex, but as I mentioned earlier, I was a little surprised by how much saliva accumulated in my mouth. I wasn't able to swallow it down and it was a bit distracting. However, as soon as I switch out the silicone gag for a breathable one, I think that I will be much more satisfied. Overall, this item added a lot of fun to our routine and we will most certainly be using it again.
