Johnny VixSkin - realistic dildo with balls discontinued by Vixen Creations, Inc - review by Shellz31

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

When I first learnt about VixSkin, regular silicone was still newish to me. I craved the realism in both looks and feel from my dildos. I guess I was stuck in my box when it came to Cyberskin and UR3 life like materials. The VixSkin range certainly have the looks factor going on, but with a high price tag I hummed and harred before finally taking the plunge.


MATERIAL ~ ODOR:

Johnny is meticulously created by Vixen Creations in the USA and is designed from VixSkin which is a silicone formula. It comes with a safety rating of 10 due to it being non-porous, hypo-allergenic, food grade as well as phthalates and latex free. You'll only want to use water based lubricants, just as you would with any other silicone toy. Silicone lubes have been known to bond to such toys resulting in a ruined dildo. Because Johnny has a nice large base, a silicone lubricant test patch could be performed on the underside. Silicone is fully sterilizable, but if you wish to share Johnny with others (unless fluid bonded) or between orifices in a session I'd suggest using a condom. I'd also play it safe by using condoms that are made with water based lubricants. There was no noticeable odor to Johnny.


COLORING & TEXTURE:

I went with the chocolate color, but he also comes in vanilla and caramel. The chocolate is a smidge lighter in shade than the product page images, but is still very rich. It actually looks like a penis made out of milk chocolate – until you touch it.

VixSkin has a very smooth jelly like feel that creates a fair bit of drag across your skin. Because of the smoothness I've had trouble getting lube to stay put, instead it likes to bead and run down the shaft. It also tends to have a slight tacky feel which I don't really find terribly realistic.
He features some nicely raised veins that run half the length of the shaft. At the base of the mushroom shape head are some foreskin wrinkling which adds character and realism.
Just like O2 silicone, Johnny has a very squishy head and scrotum. A layer of this squishy VixSkin covers a firm core down the shaft, creating a dual density. He is very pliable, but still more than firm enough for insertion and to resemble an erect penis.

Because of the extreme softness of VixSkin anything it comes into contact with can cause a permanent impression.


SHAPE:

Johnny is a perfect realistically shaped penis with a divine upward curve. The base takes the shape of a very detailed scrotum with plenty of natural wrinkle texture. Behind this is a large flat surface which is capable of holding Johnny up right on his own, as well as making him a comfortable fit in a harness.
He sports a full length of 7 ½” with 6 ¾” of that being insertable. The head has a circumference of 5 ¾” and a shaft girth of 5 ½”.


CLEANING & PACKAGING:

The best part of Johnny is the fact that he can be thoroughly sterilized by either placing in the top shelf of the dishwasher (no detergent), boiling or even using a 10% bleach solution. Between sterilizing treatments he can be washed with anti-bacteria soap and warm water, toy cleaner/spray or a wipe.
Because VixSkin attracts lint very easily, I have never found a wipe to do a proper job as a pre-wash usage technique. But it could be used as a quick clean method with intentions of a full clean at a more convenient time.
I suggest placing him in a cupboard or somewhere else that is protected from lint while he dries. The Vixen recommends placing the dildo back in the original packaging so he doesn't come into contact with any other toys or objects.

Johnny arrived in a simple clear plastic box that is resealable and more than capable for storage. If treated with minimal care, it should last a reasonable length of time. On the front is Vixen's company logo and motto – “Worth Every Inch”. The back has a basic write up as there is no booklet included. Nor is there any kind of pouch. The packaging is rather bulky and takes up a reasonable amount of room.
I have a safe place to keep mine without him touching anything else, so I chose to do away with the box.

USE:

Johnny is o-ring compatible so would make a great addition to those in same sex relationships, singles, couples, girls, guys, advanced and even some beginners as long as you don't find the realism intimidating. Although he has a slightly larger girth than the average human penis, it's nothing overly major for most users. Because he is silicone, he can be safely used anally as well as vaginally – making sure to use vaginally first if using both orifices in the same session or apply a condom. He could be a lot of fun used alone or incorporated into couple time to create a threesome scenario.


EXPERIENCE:

I'm not really a Johnny VixSkin fan. I can't put my finger on what exactly it is about him that is somewhat uncomfortable for me. I love and always prefer a dildo with the same curve he has to offer. I also love a good mushroom head and am use to much larger girths, so it doesn't make sense to me that Johnny wouldn't be a perfect fit.
At first I wasn't impressed with the dual density of him, but have come to love that feature with the O2 dildos. I prefer the matte kind of texture of the O2 rather than the smooth shiny appearance of VixSkin.

Even though my first taste of VixSkin hasn't left a grand impression on me, I am planning to try one more in the near future in case it's just a Johnny issue (for an unexplainable reason), not the actual material.

I would have preferred to give 2.5 stars, but 2 stars it is. Sorry Johnny, you just don't do much for me.

I still can't put my finger on why I'm not keen on Johnny. It's not the size or the shape, so the only thing I can narrow it down to is the material. The only action Johnny sees now is anal. It's the only orifice I can tolerate him in.
