The small silk is definitely designed to be a beginner dildo because of its tiny size. It can be used solo, or with a partner. It has a wide base, which makes it easy to hold on to. The base also makes it harness compatible, and allows for it to be used anally without worrying about losing it. Using it vaginally, I did not find it particularly useful for g-spot stimulation, however you also don't have to worry about bruising your cervix when thrusting with this toy.

The small silk is made of pure silicone, which makes it non-porous. It's also easy to sterilize, so you can share with partner(s). It doesn't have any odor or taste to it at all. It does attract some lint and hair, so you should be careful when storing it. As with all silicone toys, you should avoid silicone lubes, or at least spot test it on the base beforehand.

It is definitely a well made toy. The small silk is completely smooth, with no seams or other imperfections. The silicone is surprisingly firm, but the toy itself is still easy to bend due to its smaller size.

The small silk certainly lives up to its name! It's 4.75" long, with just over 4" being insertable. It has a diameter of 3/4", and a circumference of 2.25". I'd really suggest grabbing a ruler or measuring tape, and seeing for yourself just how small that really is. Even though I knew the measurements before I bought this, I was still a bit surprised at the size in person.

However, its small size, and the fact that it isn't realistic looking, makes it a very non-threatening toy for people looking to buy their first dildo. It's also perfect if you prefer smaller toys, and want something that's going to be easy to travel with. The small silk wouldn't take up any room at all in a bag or a suitcase, and it's incredibly easy to hide even when you're home.

This toy is definitely designed for beginners, or for people who prefer much smaller than average toys. It can be used both vaginally and anally, and even then it might be a bit underwhelming. Although its smooth texture might not be ideal for everyone, I found it perfect for extended play. Also, its size/texture means that you're pretty much guaranteed to never accidentally hurt yourself. It personally didn't work for stimulating my g-spot, however if you have a more shallow g-spot this might work better for you.

If you want to use this with a harness, you might run into some issues due to the size. Make sure you either have a harness with interchangeable rings, or one that can still hold onto this small dildo securely.

Since the small silk is silicone, it's very easy to clean and sterilize. You can wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap, boil it, or run it through the dishwasher. Since it has such a smooth surface, there's no little crevices where bacteria can grow. Depending on how you store it, it might attract quite a bit of lint and hair. If that's the case, I would definitely recommend rinsing it off before use.

As mentioned before, you should avoid using silicone lubes with the small silk, or at least do a spot test on the base first. I'd suggest using water based-lube instead. It should also be stored away from other silicone toys to prevent it from melting. I, personally, store mine in the box that it came in, but you can also use a small fabric pouch, or just wrap it in a piece of fabric.

The small silk comes in a clear, plastic box, allowing a clear view of the small silk. The box is not discreet. It's covered in information about Tantus and their products -- which, although certainly an interesting read, makes this impractical for storage, unless you have another box or chest you keep your toys in, as I do.
