Acute - strap-on dildo by Tantus - review by oliverHyde

I'm pretty sure it was love at first sight.

The Acute (in addition to being absolutely gorgeous) is one of the handiest toys I've invested in and it's the only toy I have that works well for vaginal, anal, AND oral sex.

The design (6" long, 1 1/4" diameter) makes it a handy beginner - intermediate size for anal play, and the smooth graduation at the head makes insertion easier than more bluntly rounded toys. For example, it's not as easy to insert as the slim butt plug, but it's significantly easier to insert than the infinity plug. The subtle bumps on the inner curve of the Acute, while difficult to feel vaginally, are absolutely perfect anally. It's just enough of a ridge to be felt without being irritating with rougher play.

Vaginally, it's not as filling as many other toys in the same price bracket, but since it is able to hit the G-spot so well, my wife and I didn't feel the need to feel as full as I normally do. The fact that it hits the G-spot easier also makes it a lot easier for me to let go (both as the wearer and as the receiver) because I don't have to concentrate on the angle of entry as much. This makes it significantly easier to couple strap-on play with other things like nipple play, scratching, biting, hair pulling, etc.

I also love this toy for strap-on blow jobs. It's short and slim enough to make deep-throating easier but large enough to make the mouth feel nicely full. The curved angle presents an interesting challenge at times, but since the toy can be turned upside-down easily in most o-ring harnesses (because of the missing balls) it's a challenge that's easy to avoid.

As an o-ring compatible toy, it's very stable. The base is very smooth and seems to stay in place better than many of the others I have of the same size. The fact that it has no balls also makes it easier to use in more complicated positions.

The glossy subtly-marbled look very aesthetically appealing (it looks a bit less marbled in person than it does in the picture) and I absolutely love that the purple marbling perfectly matches the purple velvet in my Corsette harness.


The fact that it's definitely phallic without being hyper-realistic is also nice because although I have a huge fondness for realistic toys, I'm not always in the mood for something that looks like a real penis. I also don't really want a hyper-feminine hot-pink cock either. The Acute strikes a happy median in between sex toys with happy flowers and flesh-like cocks with raging veins.

Like all Tantus toys, the Acute is made from high-grade silicone, so it's non-pourus, hypoallergenic, and extremely easy to clean by boiling, autoclaving, or with 10% bleach solution.

It's very important to note that although high-grade silicone toys are more silicone lube compatible than low-grade silicone toys, it's in your toy's best interest to use a condom whenever you're using silicone lube. The patch tests I did with Pink and Ride silicone lubricant were safe, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

For what it offers, this toy is as close to perfect as it gets. I'm so very happy that Tantus makes toys to last. I want this baby to last me a loooong time.
