Woo... it's wavy!

This is one artsy, curvy, fun toy. It looks intimidating, but it is easy to use with the two differently shaped ends. The Amber Wave is easy to grip, can be sanitized easily, and is pretty affordable. I love it, and I think that everyone one should have at least one unique toy in their toy box. This could definitely be that toy. I don't think that this would be great for size queens, but this could be a fun toy for both beginners and advanced users.

Use

So, the Amber Wave is a dildo that's intended for vaginal, and possibly anal, use. I haven't used it for anal. I'd be careful during anal use, because it doesn't have a flared end, and those muscles can pull a lot of things in. Don't insert it too far in anally, and use the s shaped end. It's got 8 inches of an interesting snake like curve to it with bumps. So, it can provide you with a different type of stimulation. Vaginally, it works pretty well for hitting the G-spot, at least in my case. So, if you’re looking for G-spotting, you could have fun.

Since it's glass, you could also try temperature play by running hot or cold water on it, etc. However, don't go too crazy with thrusting to hard (it is glass), or by going to extreme temperature ranges. Basically, don't hurt yourself.

Basically, it's a good toy for thrusting or rocking internally, and it's always fun to use with another toy stimulating your clitoris. You could also use it with a partner, too, but make sure you communicate with them so that you don't get hurt.

Material / Texture

It's made of Pyrex glass, which is a very hard material. It also has a high chemical and temperature resistance. It's a little less dense than ordinary glass, so it won't break as easily. Glass is also smooth and nonporous, which makes it really easy to clean with soap/water. It doesn't smell at all. You can also sanitize glass by boiling it, or by putting it in a bleach solution.

The texture is interesting. It's got bumps on one side, and then there are two small ones on the larger end. The bumps on the one side are pleasant. However, the bumps on the head, although small, can be a bit weird. So, I usually use the s-shaped end to begin with.

Design / Shape / Size

This thing is curvy, almost like a snake (a sexy snake?). When I first showed my roommate, she was like, "What? I wouldn't put that in my vagina, it's so curvy." However, she did think that it was really pretty, and I would have to agree with that. The glass is really beautiful with red stripes on one end. It has clear colored glass in the middle, and the other end has some red spots along one side. I mean, look at a picture of it; it’s really hard to describe the design. Mine actually looks different from the picture they have on Eden, (and I got it on Eden) so maybe the pattern varies a little. Now, back to the curves, they look intimidating, but I don't think that they actually do too much. They just sort of give you a fuller feeling when you're using it.

I still don't quite understand why it is curvy. However, it makes for an excellent grip, and the curves on the end help for G-spotting. I also think it gives this toy a really artistic look. You can pull out this dildo and say, "Dude look at my dildo!", and get some pretty great reactions from other people. Although the shape is intimidating, it actually doesn't hurt you. I am not a size queen, so it would work for people who like average to thinner toys. It's a slim dildo; the curves give the toy some girth, though. It's 8 inches long, so it isn't that short. It's probably not best for travel unless you have room for a normal sized dildo in your suitcase. I would not suggest this toy for size queens, though, because of its slim size. However, if you want a really pretty dildo that has some interesting curves on it, you should get it. It's really easy to insert, and it was actually my first dildo/glass toy. So, I would suggest it to beginners.

One last thing that I should mention are that there's two different ends, which definitely have different shapes. There is a more of an S-shaped curve on one side, which is good for G-spotting. It can be a little pointy, though, so I wouldn't use it for extended use. It is a really good side to start with, though. The other side is not really curved, but it has a nice bulbous end. It's nice and thick, and I usually switch to this side once I decide that I want a little more. This end has got a really nice feel to it. I can almost angle it to rub the G-spot a little, but the two bumps on the end feel a little weird if I'm not warmed up. When I am, though, the texture is pretty nice.

Having this double-ended dildo with two very different ends is really cool. Both ends are pretty easy to use. I love the variety that this toy gives me with. I think that it's definitely an unusual toy, and everyone should try an interesting toy. You might come to like it. Plus, it's a curvy, beautiful toy!

Performance

This toy rocks it. It's so easy to grip because of the shape. Also, if you aren’t enjoying one end during play, the other one will most likely do it for you. It's so easy to insert, and textures are fun. Sometimes I do notice that the S-shaped end is pointy, and I have to trade up. However, I don't think that is too much of a problem. You usually have to use lube with these sorts of toys, and any lube is compatible with glass -- choose your pick. If you want it warm, put it in some warm water before use. If you don't put in warm water, it will warm up really fast anyway. It will just be cold for a little bit. If you want it to stay cold, keep a bowl of cold water beside you. I can't really say much else, but it performs how a dildo usually does. If you have a vibrator on your clitoris at the same time, you can have a pretty good time.

Care and Maintenance

I wouldn't throw this toy around. It is Pyrex glass, so it won't completely shatter. However, it will probably break if you let it fall on hard surfaces, and then you won't have a toy anymore. Just store it in a dresser, in its red pouch, in a box, or on your desk (not on the edge), but I wouldn't leave it out unless you're living with people who are like, "we know what that is but we don’t care."

Cleaning is a breeze. You can just run some soap and water over it. Or, you could use a toy cleaning solution, or wipes (whatever you have that cleans your other toys). You can also share it if you sanitize it; just put in some bleach solution, throw it in the dishwasher, or boil it. Overall, this is a toy that is pretty easy to maintain.

Packaging

I've had this toy for a long time, so I don't clearly remember how it came packaged. I'm pretty sure that it just came in a box. I think it was wrapped in some bubble wrap, and placed inside one of those red bags that come with a lot of Eden toys. I still have that bag, and it is definitely nice for hiding this toy from prying eyes when I'm packing to go back to my apartment from home. It keeps it slightly safe, but if you were going to take this on an airplane, jeep ride, or anywhere where they throw your bag around a lot, I would try and pad it a little more.

Personal comments

Gosh, can I just repeat that this toy is super cool looking? I got it out and stared at it for a long time when I first got it. I think that it is so pretty, and the curves are just crazy!

Experience

This was my first glass toy, and I didn't know what to expect. I put a little bit of lube on the large end and inserted it like a breeze. It was a little cold, but it warmed up after about a minute. After awhile, I figured out that this toy works for me best if it is thrust it (but not too hard, because glass can hurt). I used it with my Life Leaf; it was wonderful, and I got off really quickly. I became pretty addicted to this toy for quite sometime, but lately I've tried exploring new things. However, I still come back to this toy if other toys just aren't doing it for me.
Follow-up commentary
I still like the wave a little, but I don't use it as often. It's really pretty and a nice warm-up, but I usually end up trading it for something else later on. It's a good beginner toy, but I've started straying away from it.
