Sex in shower waterproof silicone vibrator - traditional vibrator by Sportsheets - review by Darklyvan

6 out of 10 for 10 Fun Functions!

This vibrator was great for a little extra fun in the shower and low intensity vibrations. I am very satisfied with the Sex in the Shower waterproof silicone vibrator and would recommend it to couples looking to add a little something extra or some solo play in the shower.
Truly waterproof, TEN functions
Not very powerful, battery compartment is difficult to access

extremely useful review

The Sex In The Shower waterproof silicone vibrator is a great all-around toy and great for playing in the shower. The multiple vibration settings allow for teasing to a more intense stimulation. My wife has sensitive nipples and I found this toy's multiple settings were great for teasing them. Its bulbous shape makes it decent for penetration despite the lack of length. The weaker vibrations were not enough to increase stimulation during vaginal penetration for my wife, but if you are more sensitive it might work better for you.

Though this toy could be used anally with a good water based lube, it does not have a large base to prevent it from going too far.

Whether by yourself or with your loved one, in your bed or in the shower, this toy can be used to increase your arousal and bring you to a more intense climax. It is a great toy for those who find they are very sensitive, as the vibrations are not very strong. However if you find that you require a strong vibration to have a truly enjoyable experience then I would suggest to find a different toy.

Obviously the best place to use this toy is the one it was built for. Not many vibrators are truly waterproof, but this one works great. After numerous testings and inspections I have yet to find a drop of water past the first seal.

Material / Texture

The Sex In The Shower waterproof vibrator has a semi-smooth, flexible silicone top and a hard plastic base. Silicone has a material safety rating of 10. It is a durable non-porous material that repels both dirt and water. The two buttons on the base are soft rubber. Nothing very special or exciting about the texture can be said as nothing has been added to enhance pleasure, though I would in no way consider it coarse. The vibrator does have some grip to it, but when a lube is applied it will become extremely slippery. For silicone toys a water-based lubricant should be used.

The material used does attract and trap lint or hair with a fair amount of frequency, but it is easy to clean off with a bit of warm water.

As far as smell goes the toy really does not have one. Right out of the box you can detect a faint chemical smell, but after the first wash (and you should always wash before using for the first time) that scent is gone.

Design / Shape / Size

This vibrator is of a fairly small and sleek making it easy to hide where you see fit. It has a slight hourglass shape to it with one bulb being the handle with the power and vibration buttons and the other bulb being the silicone portion housing the vibrations. Though the vibrations can be felt throughout the silicone half it is focused towards the end. The design is great for clitoral stimulation, but the lack of girth and length make it fall short for penetration.

The overall length is 8 1/2" with the silicone portion's length measuring at 4 1/2". It has a diameter of 1 1/4" and a circumference of 4 1/2".

This is not a very large toy overall so if you are looking for something long and thick look elsewhere.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The main selling point of the Sex In The Shower waterproof silicone vibrator is that it can be used in the shower. This vibrator is truly waterproof with a very good seal.

The controls for this toy are simple. Located on the base are two rubber buttons. The one on the bottom is clearly marked as the power button. The one just above that is the vibration button. Pressing the vibration button will cycle through the ten choices of vibrations. There was no description of the ten vibrations to be found so after experimenting I found the vibrations to be as follows:

1. high frequency vibration
2. medium frequency vibration
3. low frequency vibration
4. medium frequency climbing pulse with a double pulse at the end (think Woody Woodpecker laughing)
5. quick low frequency pulsing
6. medium speed high frequency pulsing
7. quick high frequency pulsing
8. High frequency low frequency pattern
9. long high frequency vibrations with a short pause between.
10. A slightly quicker # 5

It seemed as though 5 and 10 were for the most part the same, so in reality only 9 levels of vibration and none of them very strong. On the positive side the weaker vibrations do mean that it is a quieter toy than some others.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is primarily made out of silicone and is easy to maintain and clean. Toy cleaner or antibacterial soap and warm water are all that is needed to clean it. Afterwards, let the toy air dry or dry it off with a lint-free cloth. To sanitize this toy wash it down with a 10% bleach solution. As long as you sanitize it between uses feel free to share this toy.

It is a small toy and as such storage is not a problem, we keep our smaller toys in a locked drawer in our nightstand. It could also be just as easily stored in a toy box or sock drawer though it may be best to toss it in a plastic bag first to keep dust and lint off of it.

Since this is an electronic toy do not try to boil the vibrator to sanitize it like you would for most other silicone toys. Remember to replace your batteries regularly.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

The packaging is very simple. It consist of a white and blue cardboard box with a cut-out in the shape of the toy so you may see it through the internal plastic casing. On the box is the name of the company, Sex in the Shower, and the name of the product.

The internal plastic casing was strong enough to use as storage, but it is easier just to toss it in a drawer.

Not much more was included. There was no description on the box, no list of functions, and no instructions. At first this was a little disappointing since I wanted to know what the functions were. Then I realized I would need to find out by experimenting and was happy again. The only other thing in the box was a small catalog of the other products produced by Sex in the Shower.

Personal comments

The battery compartment is a little difficult to get into. After twisting open the vibrator you need to pull on a little string loop and slide the plastic piece up the coated wires. Then put your batteries in and realign the plastic disc and slide down before twisting shut. I do recognize that this is an extra layer of protection that will help keep water from reaching the delicate electric components if any gets past the initial locking mechanism.

My wife and I have used this vibrator only twice since we received it a week ageo she has used it once on her own. The first time was in the bedroom. It was a great starter to our evening. It easily brought her to orgasm when paired with my tongue. At this time we also tested out all the functions. Her favorite was number four.

Our second experience was of course in the shower. I decided it was necessarily to test out whether or not it was really waterproof. After a couple of orgasms on my wife's part the shower was getting cold so we quickly rinsed off and hopped out. I cleaned and dried off the toy then opened it up to check if any water managed to get inside. Not even a drop of moisture managed to find it's way in.

As far as my wife's solo use goes, she ended up switching to one of her other toys and told me "It felt good, but not as good as my red one." I do not know the name of her "red one", but it is ribbed with a G-spot stimulator.

Follow-up commentary
Every time we use it we end up with a pair of dead triple A's. This toy seems to drain the batters very quickly and the worst part is that changing those batteries is a real pain in the butt. Accessing the battery compartment is a real design flaw that they need to reconsider. It is still a decent toy for those who like lighter vibes, but I am finding we are using it less and less.

    Very detailed review.
This particular toy reminds me a lot of the Lelo line, but with the advantage of being waterproof. While I doubt I'd use it in the shower, it would definitely make for better cleaning.
In any case, thanks for sharing!

Well, I'm glad SOMEONE had a good experience with it (at least for a while). Mine stopped working. I thought it was broken but maybe it just drained the batteries that quickly (which is ridiculous because I was only using it for a few minutes). I did try the batteries in something else, though, and they still worked so I considered it dead. Either way, it drains batteries way too fast and it's entirely too weak for me. Great review, though!
