A Great Option For A Workout

The Joyballs are a high quality, unique set of vaginal balls. The silicone is smooth and safe, and the colors available are sure to catch anyone's eye. Most importantly, the balls are effective if you use them right -- when I wear these, I can really feel myself getting a workout, and that is just what I want from a product like this!

Use

When I first saw the Joyballs Secret, I was instantly intrigued. I have quite a few other sets of vaginal balls, but something about this set just seems rather unique. Perhaps it is the amazing color options, or maybe it's the way that the balls are connected. I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason, these balls just look too cool to resist -- despite the fact that I own several other products of this nature.

The Joyballs work much like other vaginal balls. Inside of each ball is another small ball that you cannot see. This smaller ball is weighted, and it's meant to sort of bounce around inside of the bigger ball, producing a sort of vibration. This vibration causes your muscles to clench around the balls.

So, you might be wondering what vaginal balls are for -- I know I was prior to trying my first set! Basically, these balls are used to strengthen your pelvic muscles. Now, just putting the balls inside you and lounging on the couch will not give you any real noticeable results. On the other hand, if you put the balls inside of you and then go about any activity that has you moving around (take a walk, go for a run, up and down stairs, etc..), you will notice that your muscles are getting a bit of a workout. This is because your body movements will trigger the bouncing of the inner ball, as I mentioned previously.

If you're feeling a bit lazy and you just want to lounge around while using these, that's fine! In that case, though, you're going to have to remember to clench your muscles around the balls on your own, because you won't have the movement needed to cause the vibrations.

These balls are pretty much just for vaginal use. Please do not put them in your bum, no matter how tempted you may be, as they will get lost!

Material / Texture

The Joyballs are made out of food-grade silicone, which earns a rating of 10 on EdenFantasys safety scale. Silicone is hypoallergenic, non-porous, and both latex and phthalates free.

The Joyballs are firm -- you're not going to be able to really squeeze them, but you will find that the black girdle flex a bit, allowing the balls to fit comfortably inside of you. The material itself feels quite smooth, although it does have a little bit of a drag. Because of this, you're going to want to use a bit of water-based lubricant. Do not use silicone lubricant, as silicone lube could potentially degrade the material.

There is no texture to these balls -- they are completely smooth. The balls themselves are seamless, but you will note that there is a little seam where the black meets the green (in my case -- the color of your balls may vary, of course, depending on what you choose to purchase). That seam cannot be felt during use, but it can be a real pain in the butt to clean.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of these balls is pretty simple. It's two balls, with an attached girdle. The girdle is strong and flexible, while the balls are firm. The girdle connects in the middle in an interesting way -- instead of their being just one bit of material connecting the two sides, it connects at two points. This makes the set very sturdy and durable.

The balls are not round like many other kegel exercisers. Instead, they look something like misshapen eggs. Inside of each ball (or egg, if you prefer), there is a smaller weighted ball. The weighted ball bounces with your movements, producing a vibration.

Once you have the balls inside of you, you may be wondering how you go about retrieving them. That is simple -- there is a little loop, which is meant to be pushed up inside of you. Just insert a finger, and you will be able to grip that loop. Don't worry about the loop coming unattached -- it's very durable!

The size of this set is decent. They measure 4 1/2" in length, and weigh .3 lbs. They also measure 4 1/4" in circumference, or 1 1/4" in diameter. Beginners might find the size to be a bit large, but I think that most women should be able to accommodate the size.

Performance

The Joyballs Secret preform well. The inner weighted ball vibrates well with my body movements, causing my muscles to clench around them. I really felt like the product gave me a great workout, without even having to think about it! It was an excellent choice.

For me, the balls are not comfortable enough to wear for more 30 or so minutes at a time, but your mileage may vary.

Also worth noting is that these balls are relatively silent while they're inside of you. You can wear these in public, and no one will know your little secret.

Care and Maintenance

The Joyballs Secret are really easy to clean. You can wash them with antibacterial soap and water, or you can use a toy cleaner. You could also sterilize them by putting them on the top rack of your dishwasher, or by boiling them. The only thing that you really need to pay close attention to is the little seam that connects the girdle to the balls. That little seam tends to hold lubricant, bodily fluids, and just plain nastiness that you don't want to let sit there as it will harbor bacteria. Take a tooth pick or something, and really clean that area.

As for storage, these balls actually come with their own pouch. I simply put these in the little pouch that they came with, and then stick them in my toy box. You could store these wherever you like, though.

Personal comments

As you read this, you might be wondering... what's the point of using vaginal balls? I mean, why would anyone worry so much about exercising their pelvic floor muscles? Exercising your pelvic floor muscles results in toning your muscles, giving you more control over them. There are many reasons why women would want to tone and tighten those muscles. For me, personally, I wanted to tone my muscles so that I would be better able to "grip" my boyfriend during sex. I have not had children, and I am pretty tight, so making myself "tighter" wasn't a goal of mine -- I just wanted more control over my muscles, which I certainly got with these, and other vaginal exercisers that I own.

Experience

As I've noted before, I have other vaginal exercisers. As a result, I don't use this set exclusively, so it's difficult for me to say how much these specific balls have worked for me. What I can say is that I do feel my vaginal muscles working when I use these. I feel like they really give my pelvic floor muscles a very enjoyable workout.

That being said, I also believe that variety is important in any form of exercise -- including pelvic floor exercises! So, I will continue to use these balls in rotation with my other kegel products.
