G-spot vibrator discontinued

Good, but Not Great

Gigi was my first luxury toy. It was a good introduction to the designer sex toy world, and in comparison to a cheap-o jelly vibrator it seemed pretty awesome. Now that I have a lot of nice toys, Gigi doesn't get used very much. It's not a bad toy, but it isn't one of my favourites. Gigi doesn't have quite as much power as I'd like, and the shape and size aren't the best for me.

Use

Gigi is one of Lelo's g-spot vibrators, and the flattened tip is designed to zero in on, and apply pressure to, that area. It will work best for those who prefer smaller toys, and who don't have extremely deep g-spots. Gigi can also make a great clitoral vibrator if you prefer broader stimulation, like I do. The rigidity of the toy is perfect for those who enjoy a lot of pressure. The quiet vibrations, attractive design, and small size make it a good option if you are looking for something discreet. It would also be a good choice for introducing toys to a partner since it isn't intimidating. I don't find it works the best for clitoral stimulation during intercourse. Gigi isn't waterproof, so you'll have to limit your use to dry land.

Material / Texture

Gigi's handle and control area are made from shiny white plastic. The insertable portion is made from smooth, seamless silicone with a silky, matte finish. These areas are separated by a strip of silver plastic. The silicone is a thin layer coating the hard interior of the toy, so it feels firm, with zero give or flexibility. This may be a negative for some, but it is perfect for users who enjoy a lot of pressure. Gigi earns a perfect 10 on the EdenFantasys safety scale, because silicone is non-porous, phthalates free and hypoallergenic.

Design / Shape / Size

Gigi is on the smaller side of the vibrator spectrum at 6 1/2 inches long, with a 3 1/2 inch circumference. It won't give most users a full feeling, but it is meant to focus in on the g-spot. Personally, I wish Gigi were a bit thicker so that I could get more stimulation to the other areas of my vagina, and not just the upper wall. The 4 1/2 inches of insertable length is plenty to reach most g-spots, although it doesn't provide a ton of extra length to thrust with. My g-spot is about an inch inside my vagina, so Gigi easily reaches it. It works best for me with quick, short thrusts, or by just pressing it upward into my g-spot. The handle is 2 inches long, so there also isn't a lot of room for gripping, especially while avoiding the controls. Gigi has a flattened, oval-shaped tip which is about 1 inch wide and 1 3/4 inches long. It works well for applying pressure to the g-spot, but I find that toys with a more rounded/bulbous tip work better for me. I actually prefer Gigi's shape for clitoral stimulation. I don't like pinpoint stimulation, so the flat tip is perfect for me, and allows me to stimulate my clit as well as the surrounding area.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Gigi has a circular control panel with four buttons. As I mentioned earlier, Gigi's controls can get in the way while you are holding the toy and can sometimes be accidentally bumped due to their location on the short handle. The controls are pretty logical, but you still might want to read over the instructions before your first use if you haven't used a Lelo vibrator before. The plus and minus buttons control the power, and the arrow buttons scroll through the patterns. This enables you to customize the power level for each setting, which isn't an option on a lot of toys. There are 8 power levels, and 5 patterns, including steady vibrations and 4 variations of pulsing and waving. Gigi doesn't remember the last setting you used.

The vibrations are nice and quiet, and have a good amount of power for how quiet they are. The vibrations are average in strength and frequency. They will work for a lot of people, but I wouldn't recommend Gigi if you know you need lots of power, or deep vibrations. The vibrations are usually able to bring me to orgasm, but it takes longer than I'd like, and I have to "work at it" so I usually end up switching to one of my more powerful toys instead.

Gigi is rechargeable. There is a charging port on the end of the base which has a silicone cover, but isn't enough to keep out water. A full charge takes about 2 hours, and the manual says it will last up to 4 hours. I get about 2 hours of use on the highest setting. A light on the controls will flash while Gigi is charging, and glow white when it is charged. If the battery is about to die during use, the light will flash red to warn you.

The controls can be locked by holding down the buttons for a few seconds, until the light goes off. This is perfect for travelling.

Care and Maintenance

The instructions say to clean Gigi with warm water and soap. Since Gigi isn't waterproof, you need to make sure to keep water away from the controls and charging port. I usually use a toy wipe. Water based lube is recommended, because silicone lubes can potentially damage silicone toys. Gigi comes with a drawstring pouch that you can use for storage. You should keep your silicone toys stored out of contact with other soft materials like TPR or jelly to prevent material reactions.

Packaging

Gigi comes packaged with a thin outer box that matches the colour of your toy, and a much sturdier inner black box. It would work well as a gift, or for storage if you don't mind the extra space it takes up. Gigi comes with a charger, storage pouch, instruction manual, and warranty card.

Nice review! I feel confident that the shape would work great! But I worry that the vibes would not be strong enough. I want it, but I still hesitate. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for sharing. We've been looking toward the luxury toys but it sounds like this one is to weak and small so we'll pass. Thanks for reviewing.
