Lelo Knows What I Like!

The Gigi by Lelo would make a wonderful gift for a loved one or even as a treat to yourself. With it's wide range of vibrations it's safe to say that the Gigi would please everyone from the new user to the advanced! I must say that Lelo has stolen my heart with this one! If I could do half stars the Gigi would only receive 4.5 from this squirter, but overlooking the non-waterproof factor, it deserves 5!
Beautifully made
Strong but silent
Beautiful packaging
So much more...
Not waterproof

What is it?
This gorgeous 6.5 inch piece of near perfection is the Gigi by Lelo. This is my second "luxury" vibrator, and I must say that I'm becoming very biased against the non-rechargeable, cheaper vibes. The Gigi has a 4.5 inch insertable length, this includes the beautifully colored silicone part only. Directly below the insertable section is a silver band that is listed as stainless steel in the users manual. And finally, the base of this vibrator is plastic, the base include a four button control panel (-, +, ^, v) and a charging port. The charging port is covered by a strip of silicone that is connected to the toy and inserts into the port when not in use. And the control panel is merely a circle with buttons on each "side" and a silicone strip lining the outside, this is also where the LED lights are located.

Gigi has a slight curve and a broad head for maximum g-spot stimulation. The head of the Gigi is 3.75 inches in circumference and the neck tapers down to a 3 inch circumference at the neck. There is very little give to this toy, it feels like hard plastic coated in velvety silicone. The head is where you will find the most give, which isn't much. Bending this toy is out of the question, as I said it feels like hard plastic coated in silicone, I imagine bending the Gigi would result in it breaking.

Despite the strip of silicone lining the control panel and the charging port, Gigi is NOT waterproof. I wouldn't even say that the Gigi is splash proof. In other words, be very careful when washing Gigi. This brings me to my only problem with Gigi. As a mom, a lot of the time my only time to play with my toys, is in the shower. So naturally I enjoy them being waterproof (as my beloved Mimi). Also, I am a "squirter" and must be very careful when using the Gigi. I find it slightly annoying to have to take extra precaution not to get any love juices on my toys out of fear of tearing them up.

How do you use it?
The Gigi is powered by my favorite method- recharging! This toy comes with a charger that you simply plug into the wall, into your toy, and wait! I initially charged mine for 4-6 hours, the instructions that come with it does not specify a charging time. And then the following times I have charged my Gigi was about an hour to an hour and a half. I haven't used my Gigi till it gave out on my, yet. But from one charge I can get 4-5 separate "sessions" of 15-30 minutes at a time. The instructions that did come with the Gigi suggest that you at least charge it once a month to keep the battery fresh.

To turn on the Gigi you press and hold down the "+" button till the LED lights up and the Gigi starts vibrating. You can control the speed of the Gigi with the + and - buttons. The lowest is a strong 2 vroom while the highest is a very, very strong 5+ vroom. At it's highest the Gigi is a 2 "bees" and I do not have the slightest problem with noises at all. The noise cannot be heard if you are not holding the Gigi.

There are seven steady vibrations, each stronger then the last. The owners manual lists the modes (activated and controlled by the ^ and v buttons) as "extended interval pulsation," "intermediate interval pulsation," "short interval pulsation," and "wave pulsation." Personally, I would list them as pulsation modes and escalating modes. To turn off the Gigi you simply hold down the "-" button. And to lock the Gigi you press in the middle of all the buttons, you hold down the entire control panel for 5 seconds, or until the LED light turns off.

The Gigi, as mentioned above, is meant for g-spot stimulation, but it can also be used for clitoral stimulation, or other erogenous zones. The edges of the broad head make it great for pin point stimulation. The inside of the curve is wonderful for laying between the labia, I enjoy it best this way because the tip gently hooks right inside my vagina while the inside of the curve massages my clitoris. The outside edge can be used for clitoral or labia massage as well. The Gigi is very versatile and can be used for many things, except anal insertion. There is no flared base making this toy very dangerous for anal insertion, but it can be using to stimulate the outside of the anus.
How do you care for this toy?
Since the Gigi is silicone it is advised that you do not use a silicone based lube or cleaner with it. Water based lube is always the safest bet when handling silicone toys. The Gigi came with a slip of paper that has many quick "do's and don't's" I find this paper to be a great little reminder. The paper says do not submerge or boil your Gigi, don't store in direct sunlight, and don't use when charging. Of course these things seem like common knowledge, but it's wonderful if you're giving this gift as a first time toy to someone. The "do's" half of this paper include do apply cleaning solution directly to silicone, but apply to towel if you are going to clean the plastic portion, make sure the charging port is covered before cleaning or using, and make sure the charging port is clear of water before charging.

The Gigi is a bit of a lint magnet so be sure to wash before and after each use. If you are going to share your Gigi it is recommended that you use a condom. And be sure you don't store silicone toys with like material. The Gigi comes with a silky bag that you can store your toy in if you don't want to keep it in the box. I, personally, find the box to be very lovely and keep mine along with all the papers, charger, and bag in the box.

The box is a long, hard cardboard, plain black box, with a single word on the top: LELO. It's not very deep, but the length makes up for that. You completely remove the top o the box to find the Gigi snugly nestled in a velvet covered foam insert that has been cut to fit the Gigi's curves perfectly. At the bottom of the box is what appears to be another, smaller box, also decorated with a single word: LELO. Upon opening that "box," which is really a flap hiding a compartment, you find the charger, the silk pouch, and a 1 year warrenty (8 different languages), the do's and do not's paper (English only), and the owners manual (5 different languages). The box without wrapping would make for a beautiful, discreet way to give the Gigi as a gift.
Follow-up commentary
The Gigi is still my go to insert-able vibe. The vibrations are still strong, I still love the ergonomic design, and the patterns are always a fun twist to add to any solo session. If you're still looking for your favorite g-spot toy, I highly suggest the Gigi. With the flat head and strong vibrations it is soon to be your favorite vibe, too!
