I've been eyeing the We-Vibe 3 for a while. I'm always on the lookout for a great couple's toy, and this really seemed to fit the bill. I was so excited about it! Unfortunately, that excitement turned to disappointment in the first few minutes of use.



First, the basics. The We-Vibe 3 is a silicone couples vibrator that's made to be worn during sex. One arm sits on the clitoris, one arm sits on the G-spot, and there is then enough room for the man to penetrate with the toy inserted. It's waterproof, so clean up is easy with soap and water. It comes with a remote that does not have replaceable batteries. If you ever lose the remote, there is a button on the clitoral arm that you can use instead. Be aware, though, that the button is not really noticeable and looks almost like an imperfection in the silicone. The remote and button allow you to scroll through 2 speeds and 4 vibration settings. It is smooth except for some almost unnoticeable ridges on the heads, and it does have a little bit of weight to it.

The silicone has a lot of drag to it, so lubrication is key. Use only water-based lubrication with it and keep it away from other silicone toys to prevent degradation.



The vibrator itself is relatively small and can fit into the palm of your hand. The clitoral arm (the bigger arm) is about 3.25 inches around at the widest point and just under 3 inches from the tip of the clitoral arm to where the neck is (the curved part that attaches the two arms together). The neck itself is about two inches long. The G-spot attachment is smaller than the clitoral attachment, at just under 3 inches around and 2.5 inches long.



The charger for the We-Vibe 3 is not magnetic, like the We-Vibe Touch. Instead, it is a free standing base that the We-Vibe goes into, arms down (like an upside down U). The charger base also doubles as the storage case base, and there is a plastic cap that can be put down on top of it. At the base of the charger is the port where the adapter plugs in. There is an indicator light to show when the We-Vibe is charging, however the light does not go out, blink, or change in any way when it is done charging. The initial charge takes a full 24 hours.

All of the parts come packaged in a tasteful, but not discrete, white, heavy-duty, oval cylinder box.

Now the for the fun stuff!

First, it needs 24 hours for the initial charge! It charges the way it charges, so there's not a lot to be done about that, but I did find it irritating that it took so long.

Next, getting it in. There is a ton of drag with this silicone, making it not the easiest thing. Once I got it in, any change in position made it fall back out! Once it was in and positioned, it wouldn't stay there. Any movement my husband made pushed the We-Vibe off of where it was before. I thought that the ridges, as shown in the product photo, would help it stay put, but the actual ridges are not nearly that pronounced. This is where it lost the most stars from me.

The vibrations on the clitoral arm were okay, but nothing to write home about. They are slightly weaker than the We-Vibe Touch. The vibrations on the G-spot arm were only slightly weaker than the clitoral arm, but I found that once the toy was inside of me, the vibrations sort of 'got lost' and provided no extra stimulation. Since it kept slipping sideways off my G-Spot, any vibration would have been pointless anyways.

We haven't given up hope that we'll find some way to MAKE it work, but it is definitely not working the way that it is intended to be used.

I've tried the We-Vibe 3 several times now, with very little luck. For partnered sex, it's pretty darn useless. During sex it slips sideways off my clitoris and G-spot so it doesn't add any extra stimulation at all. The vibrations aren't that strong and it has a lot of drag.

The only thing I've found it is useful for is a warm-up toy before penetration occurs. But as a couple's toy? Useless.
