The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty - book discontinued by Audioworks - review by Princess-Kayla ♥

This book was written by Anne Rice under the name A.N. Roquelaure. I've never read her work before, but based on this book, I'll be reading much more. From what I gather, she's written several other popular books that have been adapted into a few movies. Her various books have sold over 100 million copies, making her one of the most popular authors in American history. I can see why too, because she's a fantastic author. She's very descriptive and really makes you feel like part of the story.

We all know the story of Sleeping Beauty. Well this story gives it a little twist. The prince wakes her up by having sex with her, then kissing her. She wakes from her hundred year sleep to find out that the prince wants to take her with her to her palace. She's to remove all of her clothes and do whatever he says. All this within the first ten pages too! The prince lives in a very powerful kingdom that receives various princes/princesses from other kingdoms. These princes/princesses serve as servants and sex slaves. They're punished when they misbehave and are punished for the amusement of the court.

The story follows Beauty as she learns the rules of being a slave and tries to figure out how she feels about the whole ordeal. She meets Prince Alexi who she's fascinated by, and the queen, who's quite scary. You learn the stories of a few other slaves as well.

The book is very well written, and will have no problem holding your attention. It's also very erotic. I found myself getting turned on on every page. Sure, you may get tired of reading "sex" and "organ" to describe vagina and penis, but there are only so many words you can use, and she uses them well.

Just a warning though, this book isn't for everyone. It includes several different kinks, so vanilla people may be a bit overwhelmed. When the slaves get punished, they really get a punishment. It's nothing that can seriously harm them physically, but the punishments are hard and there is talk of a lot of welts on butts. There are also several male on male scenes, and a couple female on female. If stuff like that bothers you, this isn't something you can read. A common punishment for the men involves something being shoved into their anus.

This isn't a very discreet cover at all. It shows Beauty laying down on her bed. Her shirt is open and you can see most of one boob and all of the other one. You even see her nipple. I read this at work, but kept it pressed against the table the whole time.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot! I just read Fifty Shades of Grey, which was horrid, so I was looking for some really good erotica. I found it too! I was constantly turned on while reading this. Every punishment had me squirming. Some of it was a bit rough, but it was written in a way that made everything so sexy. It has aspects of pet play, pony play, impact play, worship, and probably more that I don't know names too. It's really good, but not for the faint of heart. If you can't handle extreme punishments or gay sex, then you should pass this up. I found it all hot, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.
