Anne Rice claims the story of Sleeping Beauty as her own erotic fairytale world!

Amazing Book! Simply amazing. If you like bdsm erotica fiction this is most assuredly the book for you. It's written in amazing detail, and I like that it's set in the past. It would be great for a historical fiction fan who wants an erotic twist. Rice is amazing at what she does, and this is some of her best work. The twisting of the classic story into bdsm erotica is simply genius and she writes it to where you feel like you know the inner workings of the characters.

About author

I have read The Vampire Chronicles, and find Anne Rice and her books to be equally delightful. I can honestly say that my prior knowledge of her previous work did not prepare me for this bdsm fairytale world that she created. She far exceeded my expectations in every way, and then some.

Personal comments

This book was amazing. My friend, who is a gay man, gave it to me because he thought I might enjoy it. The way she writes about the court of the Prince, and the punishments they give out to their sex slaves has you literally cringing from the paddle. It is powerfully written, and you feel for Beauty each step of the way. Her descriptions are graphic, and wonderfully worded. It's an erotica literary masterpiece! Rice has out done herself once more.

Sounds like something I'd like to read sometime

I would have liked to hear a more detailed plot summary and possibly what some of the 'bdsm themes' in the book actually are. It was very clear that you liked the book ^^.

Also, I'm really not sure what intent you had in mentioning that the friend who recommended the book was gay. It almost sounded like you needed to justify a male reading the novel.

Good luck with your future reviews, and I hope some of the feedback helps!

The book has a heterosexual theme, which is why I mentioned that he is gay. I meant to clarify that, but I think I may have edited that part out, since I tend to be quite verbose in general. He enjoyed it, even though it only references homosexuality around two to three times, that I recall off the top of my mind, but the homosexual content was quite brief. Thanks for the feedback, and I find it quite useful!

This book is not completely heterosexual themed. There are plenty of non-heterosexual moments in the story that make it appealing to anyone of any sexuality.

I said it wasn't completely heterosexually themed, but the main storyline does revolve around a heterosexual theme. There are certain situations where homosexuality is referenced and a few times there are "scenes" of homosexual sex and a few "scenes" of homosexual oral sex, but the basic theme - the main story line is heterosexual. Which is worth noting, in my opinion, because that means it can appeal to people of all sexualities unless they are looking for something with a stronger homosexual theme. I think we basically said the same thing.
