Love & Meh-riage

Even though I enjoyed only two of the five sex scenes, I still liked Love & Marriage overall. I was impressed by the excellent sets, lighting, and cinematography, all of which helped bolster the plot and characters in the film. Kayden Kross gave a very good performance on all fronts, and Lisa Ann made me swoon, too.

extremely useful review

Love & Marriage is a straight porn flick with a simple plot. This film gets a lot of things right, and it feels much more like a box office movie than most other porn videos I've watched. I couldn't help but notice the amount of effort that went into the production. I was very pleased by the cinematography, sets, lighting, and wise use of music in this film. And while I usually don't seek out straight porn, I was mesmerized by Kayden Kross's blowjob technique.

In this film, Kayden Kross supposedly has a perfect husband, but she is unhappy in her marriage. While she talks through the issues with her attractive psychologist, her husband is off banging chicks for fun. The back cover of the DVD alludes to the attraction between doctor and patient that increases with each counseling session.

Kayden Kross was my favorite performer in the film. While I don't usually go for blondes, her portrayal of the frustrated wife was pretty good. She's hot to watch during sex, too, because she looks and sounds like she's really enjoying herself. Another notable performance came from Lisa Ann, a curvy, dark-haired beauty. She had some hot, sneaky sex with Tommy Gunn in their gorgeous kitchen. Seriously, that kitchen was so marvelous, I was turned on by the room before they even started fucking! On a more relevant note, I liked that Lisa Ann played up the idea that they had to be quiet while getting it on.

I wasn't terribly impressed with the guys in Love & Marriage. Manual Ferrara was my favorite male actor, and Tommy Gunn was a close second. They each seemed to have more chemistry with their partners compared to the rest of the men in their sex scenes.

The scenes that advance the plot often turn into sex scenes, but the sex scenes don't have much plot value on their own. There's not much variety in sexual activities among the scenes; blowjobs and PIV sex comprise most of the action. The first four sex scenes averaged about twelve minutes in length. The final scene, featuring Kayden Kross and Manuel Ferrara, was about 22 minutes long, and it was easily the most passionate scene in the film.

In contrast, I didn't get much enjoyment out of either of the threesome scenes. The first was a MMF tag team, and the second was a MFF threesome with all three people involved at once. The MFF threesome felt less natural to me than the rest of the scenes in the film. Both scenes illustrated Scott Nails cheating on Kayden Kross, which contributed to my negative response.

The special features on the DVD were a nice addition. I liked the Behind the Scenes footage because it was well edited, light-hearted, funny, and sexy. They interviewed each female performer and talked about some of the film-making details. I liked that they kept the dialogue interesting and concise while still including humor and sexiness. The available trailers can be viewed by selecting a film from a menu; I like being able to see all trailer titles on one screen.

Overall, this film is very well done, but not all of the sex scenes appealed to me. The plot helped me enjoy some of the scenes, especially the sex in the kitchen and the long romp at the end of the film. While it wasn't a spectacular movie, Love & Marriage left a positive impression on me, and I recommend it for people who are interested in straight vanilla porn with a plot, and to anyone who appreciates beautiful sets in their porn!

You shared my sentiments of this film. It was fun, but I think it could've been better. I think part of it was the annoying dialogue. Ergh...
