The latex coating makes them more comfortable to use and prevents that digging in feeling that some clamps can give, however if you or your partner are allergic to latex, these are not a good idea.

The metal can feel cold on your body. If this bothers you, you can dip them in warm water and they will give you a nice, warm feeling. One con that I found is that the chain could be longer.
