Magic Wand Original - sex toy by Vibratex - review by Mrs.Intensity

This vibrator was originally sold in the 1970's as a massager for achy muscles and back pain, but it didn't take long before it became one of the most renowned sex toys for clitoral stimulation on the market. While the girth and large size of this wand does not afford use as an insertable sex toy its large bulbous white head is known for delivering powerful and deep vibrations where a woman wants them most.

As an added bonus, a number of attachments are now available that fit snugly over the white head to provide even more customized stimulation to the clitoris and g-spot. The Hitachi Magic Wand becomes insertible with the Gee whizzard g-spot attachment, also sold by Edenfantasys. I have not tried this attachment with my Hitachi wand however, I have tried a Rabbit Vibrator Wand Attachment sold by Trinity Vibes that works wonderfully with the Hitachi. This attachment has the traditional rabbit ears for clitoral stimulation and also a 4 inch insertable dildo that easily fits over the head of my Hitachi wand. My hope is that Edenfantasys will consider selling more attachments for this wand because there are so many amazing ways to make this already wonderful product even better for sex play!

If strong vibrations were not enough you can also kiss your mega-pack of batteries goodbye because the Hitachi Magic Wand will plug into a standard U.S. power circuit, making it that much more reliable and budget-friendly. The electric Hitachi is also greatly appreciated for its discreet appearance as a traditional full-body massager. Whether this toy is used as a body massager, to reach orgasmic bliss, or for both purposes I am confident most women AND men will find it a worthwhile expense!! It's not even close to being the most expensive vibrator on the market and it is more practical than many I have seen and tried so far. Just keep in mind that the motor can overheat and do not plan on using your wand for more than 20 to 30 minutes continuously.

The wand portion of the Hitachi is made of plastic while the cushiony cover for the head of the wand is made of a vinyl like material. This massager is by no means water-proof so do not submerge your wand and I would not recommend using alcohol-based soaps or cleaners for the vinyl cover. Simply wiping clean or using a mild soap should work. There is no give to the Hitachi, the wand is hard plastic and the head is hard plastic underneath the vinyl cover. One nice property of the plastic and vinyl is that they are not lint-attracting as some of your other toys may be so you can massage your skin through fabric and not worry about lint particles being all over your wand later.

The Hitachi is a long and even somewhat cumbersome wand. The last thing I would call it is small! It is about 12 inches long from the bottom of the wand to the head, and the head has 6 3/4 inches circumference. The head is very wide and round and is not made to enter the vaginal canal. The size of the head makes it ideal for massaging a number of parts of the body aside from just the clitoris. It works wonderfully for just about any part of the body. I do thoroughly enjoy the vibrations this wand provides however, the wand is a bit long for my liking as far as holding it down there to stimulate the clitoris. This is not a major issue for me though.

The controls of the Hitachi wand are very simple; there is a high vibration intensity setting and a low setting. I did notice a difference between both however, both seem adequately strong to me. The Hitachi has a pretty sizable motor in the wand/base that is also pretty loud. This is not a quiet toy option but for the power provided and the lower price, I am not going to complain about the noise level. One thing I will comment on is that the Hitachi is NOT designed to be used for longer sessions than about 20 to 30 minutes. This is specified in the instruction and care sheet provided in the box. Using the Hitachi for longer periods of time can result in overheating.

The Hitachi must be plugged in for use and comes with a 6 foot cord. If you plan to use it further away from an outlet this is easily solved with an extension cord.

The factor I love about the Hitachi is that it is very discreet. You can own one of these, leave it laying around, and it looks like a full-body massager and not an intimate toy. You can store your Hitachi just about anywhere. While you cannot sterilize it, it is still fairly easy to keep clean with a mild soap or toy cleaner, and the wand portion requires minimal care.

The Hitachi wand comes packaged in a fitted cardboard box, wrapped in plastic and has a sheet for care and maintenance. The box may be used for storage however, I did not care to use it for that purpose. I did feel the added user's instructions were thorough and easy to understand. It certainly beats getting a toy with no instructions which isn't that uncommon!

The outside of the box is descriptive of the contents so it is ideal to wrap it first if you are planning on giving the Hitachi as a gift.

I was very excited about purchasing this wand because I had read so many good reviews about it. I do think it is a very practical purchase and certainly has the power needed to give mind-boggling orgasms. I have used both the low and high settings and both can get me there just fine!

I did notice that the Hitachi does get pretty hot during use if you go past the time-frame specified for massage sessions. I even had it stop working for a little bit because it got too hot. If you enjoy playing with toys for longer than 30 minutes at a time I would suggest having a toy to switch to past the 30 minute mark. Give the Hitachi a rest for at least another 30 minutes before using it again. This is also specified in the instruction sheet. I do wish that the motor could last longer than 30 minutes at a time but for quickies it is great and it does work as an excellent full-body massager!
