The Hitatchi is very critically acclaimed as one of the very best vibrators, but I've personally found that the Hitatchi does not work well for use as a personal vibrator. It does say on its warnings not to use it on genitalia, and for good reason. It does however make a fantastic back and body massager. It works out just about any knot your put it on in a matter of minutes.

As a vibrator, the Hitatchi is a bit too powerful. There are 2 vibration settings: low and high. While the first few times might feel great, it will cause desensitization. Much like heroin, or other hard drugs, the more you use this, the less likely you will be to enjoy other things, and the longer and more of this you'll need to enjoy yourself period. Its vibration is too wide spread and not focused enough, rather than concentrating the firepower where it is needed, even on the low setting you'll end up with your entire lower half vibrating. There are attachments that can be used to focus the vibration, redirect it and other interesting things, but I have not tried any of these myself.

The vibrating head that comes with the Hitatchi is quite porous and tends to stain quite easily and is almost impossible to clean. This makes this not a good toy to use during your period or if you are using any kind of colored lube or condiments like chocolate. It will even absorb color from colored rags or towels you might use to wipe it down with. To clean the head, I suggest using a toy spray, soap and water, or toy wipes. I would not recommend sharing the toy unless you cover the head with a condom.

This toy can be very awkward to use during sex with a partner simply because of the fact that this toy is quite large in size, and quite unwieldy. The toy is 12 inches in length and weighs approximately 1 ½ pounds. Positioning this toy can take work, or awkward positioning on your part. I've tried several times but have not been able to find a comfortable position with this toy for use during sex. I would recommend smaller, more concentrated toys instead for this purpose. They are easier to use, cause less desensitization and give more satisfying results to your and your partner.

This toy is also VERY, VERY loud. I would not suggest using this if you were trying to be discreet. Mine has also had issue that after extended use, the casing has come a bit loose on the inside making it 10x louder than it was previously.

One time I tried this toy with a partner. We tried several positions. Missionary, both leaning in and leaning back but these caused awkward sensations and just didn't quite work for her like it did solo. So, we tried it doggy style, or more rather her laying on top of it and me entering her from behind. While this worked better for the vibrator, it didn't work well for sex because she kept unconsciously thrusting into it causing my to slip out of her because of the realignment.

After some time away from the toy, my partner's sensitivity did come back. But, after extensive use for several weeks, it took quite a while. This product is still a great back massager and I use it whenever I have a tense spot on my back.
