The Hitachi Magic Wand is by far the most hyped vibrator ever, and therefore I had to have it to see if it lived up to the expectations. This massager can be used externally for clitoral stimulation, or for just a normal massage anywhere on your body. I wouldn't really recommend inserting it, but that's up to you, and if you do just do it with caution.

This toy is great for anyone from beginners to advanced users. I include beginners because the Hitachi is a good way to learn where you stand on your vibration power preferences. Even if it is too strong and doesn't work out for you as a sex toy you can still use it as a body massager.

The Hitachi can be used either solo or with a partner, and only on dry land. You wouldn't want to get electrocuted, so don't take it into the shower/tub.

The head of the Hitachi is made of white, textured vinyl, which rates a 2 in the Eden safety scale. Vinyl is a somewhat porous material and caution should be taken if you share this toy with a partner.

However, Eden carries some fantastic caps made of silicone, like Off with their head and Pleasure dome, and I highly recommend getting one of these if you buy the Hitachi. These caps will make cleaning and sharing the Hitachi much easier and safer since silicone rates a 10 on the Eden safety scale.

Initially the head of the wand had a faint rubbery smell, but it has gone away after cleaning it several times with my toy cleaner and wipes.

The rest of the Hitachi is made of hard white plastic, which rates an 8 on the Eden safety scale.

The Hitachi Magic Wand is huge! It measures in length a total of 12", and the head measures 7 1/2" in circumference. It is too big to be travel friendly, but you could certainly bring it with you if you wanted. You could pass it off as a simple body massager if someone saw it. It has a very clinical look, and to me it doesn't really resemble a sex toy.





You can somewhat bend the head of the Hitachi, but I wouldn't go crazy with it for fear of breaking or damaging the neck.



This wand is also kind of heavy at 1.5lbs. My hand got tired after just a few minutes of using the wand, and it is also too big to use it comfortably.

The cord of the Hitachi measures 72" in length.

The Hitachi is simple to control, and it only has constant vibrations, no patterns here. After you plug in the Hitachi you can turn it on by pressing the low or high switch. The low setting is marked by a white dot on the switch, and the high setting is marked by the red dot. To turn off the Hitachi you leave the switch in between the high and low settings, and unplug it.

This wand is extremely powerful, even in the low setting; the highest setting is earth-shaking! The head is too big to provide pinpoint stimulation, so this is something to consider if that is something you require in your toys.

The Hitachi does not require batteries to run it; you simply plug it into any (US compatible) electrical outlet and have fun with its powerful vibrations!

This toy is very loud, and it is not waterproof.

To clean the head of the Hitachi you can use your favorite toy cleaner/wipes, or with care use a damp towel and mild soap.

Water and silicone based lubricants are safe to use with the Magic Wand.

The Hitachi is not waterproof, so don't submerge it in water, boil it, or put it in the dishwasher.

The Hitachi is kind of big to store in my toy box, so I just leave in the box it came in on my night stand.

The packaging of the Hitachi Magic Wand is very discreet. The wand comes in a sturdy cardboard box with pictures of people giving themselves an innocent massage with the Hitachi.





Inside the box along with the Hitachi you can find a user’s manual with instructions and precautions for using the wand.

There is a warranty included that covers a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. It covers only defects in workmanship or materials in the Hitachi. You will need a proof of purchase, so keep your receipt after you buy your Hitachi.

The first time I used my Hitachi it numbed my whole lady parts area in just a few seconds. I tried to give it more time and see if I could come, but it just wasn't happening. I was expecting an earth-shattering orgasm, like I had read on many other reviews; I even used it on high and nothing! Weird! I gave up for that day.

Next time I used the magic wand I did with my panties on and a towel in between me and the Hitachi, and this time I was able to come, but it was not the great experience I had been hoping for. The head is just too big, and I found out I prefer pinpoint stimulation, or simply a toy with a smaller head.

The vibrations are way too strong for me, and they just leave me numb if I use the wand directly. I don't consider this a waste though, at least the wand works great for normal body massages, and I am able to say I tried the iconic Hitachi.
