I Can't Remember the Last Time I Used ALL of a Lip Balm

I love this balm from eos. Not only does it have an excellent smell and taste, it's also smooth and light. A little goes a long way. A ball of this will last a really long time and do a great amount of repair to damaged lips.

Use

I bought eos lip balm as a completely random and impulsive buy at the Walmart check out. I was drawn to the interesting packaging and fun bright colors. Then I read the scent/flavor which sounded so delicious. Add to that the fact that it is organic. I was completely sold. I'm not exactly sure how long ago it was that I discovered the wonder that is eos, but it was well over a year ago, and I still love the stuff. I use it almost every day, and I'm still on my first ball! It's almost time for a new one, though. The balm is silky and smooth infused with vitamin E and aloe. It's even gluten free and never tested on animals! What does this balm not do?!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This balm is incredibly smooth and light. It's never waxy or sticky. The balm itself feels firm, but it seems to melt onto the lips as it is applied. It's similar to Soft Lips which does the same thing. It can be put on before another lip color or after. Since it is clear, it won't mess up the color of another balm or gloss you want to add. The look is very natural. Since it is so thin, it won't add bulk to the lips.

Taste / Aroma

Summer fruit is yummy! Think tropical fruits like guava, mango, and goji berry. I feel like mine has a strong mango aroma. It smells almost the same as it tastes. The taste is not as strong as the smell, though. It tastes great, like a sugary dessert. The thing that is good about the taste and scent is that it smells and tastes natural not artificial. Other flavors/scents available are: Sweet mint, Honeysuckle, Lemon, Summer fruit, and Strawberry sorbet.

Performance

I keep this in my purse all the time. If I go in my purse, I use this balm which means I can use it multiple times a day. I love this stuff! It's light but still incredibly moisturizing and lasts a long time. I'll be honest, though. At first, the shape of the balm isn't ideal. When you receive the balm, it's a perfect sphere (well half is exposed). To apply the balm, you have to manipulate the shape a lot. As you use it, it will flatten and become more effortless to apply but it takes a lot of applications to achieve this. A single swipe is then sufficient for application. It also lasts a really long time. I love how it smells, and as I lick my lips it also tastes sweet. This is a necessity for having a boyfriend who can taste and will complain about waxy or oily tasting lip glosses or balms. I have no complaints from my boyfriend on this balm!
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Long lasting

Packaging

The packaging is so fun! It's shaped like a ball with a flat bottom and a divot in the side. It's split in the middle. The divot allows the fingers to easily open the ball and put the balm on the lips. The bottom of the ball has an indented eos logo. There are no ingredients on the package you will keep. It comes wrapped in a plastic seal. The only downside is that it does not attractively fit in a pocket. It's easy to find in a purse, though! You get a large amount of product in my opinion. It's .025 fluid ounces and has lasted me over a year.
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense

Personal comments

I love this balm. It feels amazing and lasts a really long time. I feel that it repairs cracked lips and also prevents them from cracking in the first place. I'll continue to buy this balm as long as I can find it.

Experience

I must say that I did buy this at a mass retailer for about a third of the price. The other products offered from this company on Eden seem about the same, though. It's even worth it at this elevated price!
Follow-up commentary
I finally finished my ball of balm. The bottom is unpleasant to use. It looks like a playing piece from Trivial Pursuit. The edges of the mold are sharp and hurt bit when glazed over the lips. It's much better to use your finger.
