I know you want to touch me...my hands that is!!!

Finally, I have the hands I have always wanted. No more cracked skin around my nails, no dry patches on my hands and now I have hands that I am proud to have anyone hold and caress. No one will ever call me alligator skin again.

Use

Cake Beauty has a complete line of Milk Made skin care products now carried by EdenFantasys, and we are lucky to have them so readily available. Shout out to Cake Beauty and EdenFantasys!!

This is a nail/cuticle softener and a skin exfoliant. I, like many others, have very dry and cracked skin, especially in the cold months and especially around my nails. It is so bad. It hurts, and not in that oh-so-good kind of way! This product can be used by men and women. Remember, dry, cracked skin knows no sexual boundaries, but since it is packaged in a pretty darn cute pink and white plastic bottle, it will turn many men away from this product. If they can get past the feminine colors, they will have a great product to use.

I use it several times a week around my cuticles. I rub a small amount around each nail, let it sit for a few minutes, and push the now softened cuticles back with a plastic (never metal) pusher designed for cuticles. I never cut my cuticles. I was told by Mom years and years and years ago to never cut, just push because cutting will make the cuticles grow bigger and faster. I am sure this is just an old wive's tale, but why rock the boat?

After taking care of my cuticles, I rub another small amount all over my hands using the motions you would if you were applying hand cream. I then let this sit for a while to moisturize, rub vigorously again, and then rinse with some warm (very warm but not hot) water. Lastly, I wash my hands with a mild soap and apply some moisturizing cream. Milk Made has a companion skin moisturizer, which goes well with this, but any of your preferred creams/lotions will do the trick.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This skin buffer is composed of sugar and other emolliants. The sugar is coarse and separates from the other more oily ingredients. You need to mix it all together, and a small spoon is included, which comes in handy. You can shake the closed bottle, but it takes a lot of power to combine the ingredients that way, so I do use the spoon (or a more durable substitute like my cuticle pusher). If you are careful when combining the ingredients, the result is a moderately thick and grainy substance.

It will spread easily and stay where you want it the most. When I want it around my nails, it stays in place. If I rub it all over my hands, it does not spread up my wrists. This is something I appreciate because if something goes where I don't necessarily want it to be, I feel that I am wasting product, and this is an expensive (although worth it) product.

During and after use, there is not a sticky, greasy, or oily feeling. Your hands will feel smooth, soft, and refreshed. Do make sure to rinse/wash carefully because you do not want any residue left behind.

Taste / Aroma

I did not taste this, but because of the high sugar content I am sure it is very sweet tasting. How does it smell you ask? In a word: wonderful!! It smells like vanilla but more subtle. If you can imagine walking into a pastry shop and peeking into the ovens as they are baking some wonderful confections, well, that comes close. You really will be tempted to eat this stuff, but don't. It works too well on your hands, and cupcakes are less expensive!

Performance

This stuff does what it claims, which is what we all want in a product, isn't it? I have been using it regularly now for almost a month, and even between uses I notice that my hands are softer than ever before. My cuticles are smaller, and I think I am going to fall back from 3 times a week to twice a week and see how it goes. My goal is to use this only once a week, but if I need a 3 time a week regimine, so be it. It is so worth the time.

Speaking of time, this is a really quick way of taking care of your hands and nails. My routine takes just 10 to 15 minutes. It really depends on my cuticles at the moment. The good news is that, since it is so easy to use, I can watch any shows I have DVR'd recently! I can't read because I don't want to turn the pages, but if you have a reading pad, you'd be good to go. Read to your little heart's content.

Packaging

All Milk Made products are in pink and white ultra feminine packaging. This comes in a translucent plastic bottle with a screw on top and a small spoon attatched. The spoon is used for mixing and dispensing. It will break easily, but there are many substitutes that you already have on hand. I use my cuticle pusher, but a straw, dull plastic knife or small spoon will all do the trick. Even a lollipop or ice bar stick will be useful! Use your creative mind, and you'll always have something to use in a pinch.

Because the bottle has the white/pink label as opposed to most of Milk Mades totally white/pink packaging, this will be less intimidating to men. Although, many men will still view it as too feminine for them, which is too bad because they are missing out on a great product. The label has simple instructions and some "cutsie" sayings. I do wish it were a larger amount and had a wider top. It is only 4.9 ounces, but a little does go a long way.

Follow-up commentary
This Milk Made Smoothing Hand Buffer is lovely. It can be difficult to stir and get all the kernals evenly dispersed in the oil but the time spent is really worth it. Having ordered this and knowing the money spent on it, motivates me to dutifully use this twice a week. My hands and nails have never looked or felt nicer. Cake Beauty has another winner.

I don't like to use stuff that separates alot--my hands go numb from shaking it everytime it's used.
