Lip Balm, Yes. Plumping, Not So Much.

I am a lip balm addict. I am always wearing it and have to purchase it constantly. This pomegranate plumping lip balm by DONA is some of the most amazing lip balm I have yet to try. While the plumping effect was a complete dud, the taste, scent, and feel of this lip balm is so great. It has a light tingling sensation which I find quite pleasant. :) With ingredients such as Olive fruit oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, and more, this is a thick, nourishing lip balm that will leave your lips feeling oh so smooth and sexy.

The texture of the lip balm, to me, is a little weird. Mine seemed to be a little crumbly but once it is applies smooths out real nicely. It's nice and thick, not synthetic feeling like usual chapstick, and with a little bit of a "grit" that some may find nice (I didn't). The thickness means that it lasts for a good long time, and the feel of it never gets tacky or sticky. The natural ingredients are a definite plus for someone with sensitive skin. The overall texture is very creamy and smooth.

The taste of this lip balm is not strong at all. The smell is a very strong pomegranate scent, which is really very pleasant. There are 6 scents total to choose from: Came Camu, Pomegranate, Goji Berry, Mangosteen, Blue Lotus, and Acai. However, if you prefer for your lip balm to taste really good, you probably might like to skip this one because the flavor is not at all very strong.

The performance of the DONA lip balm was highly impressive. Normally on me, lip balm lasts between 15-30 minutes before I either want to reapply more. But the initial light tingling and remaining creamy texture of this lip balm lasted for a long period of time and I didn't feel the need to keep applying more. I liked the smell the best. Everytime I apply it I can't help but constantly inhale the pomegranate scent. It absorbs into the skin of the lips nicely and makes them very smooth. I, however, didn't notice any plumping action at all.

The packaging of the DONA lip balm is very simple. The tube is a dark brown/black color, with pale pink lettering. Nothing about it screams sex. It comes in a traditional "chapstick" type tube, which is convenient and travels well. No instructions came with the product, but it's very self-explanatory, as is any chapstick or lip balm. The container does not leak or run unless it is left in the sun and melts. The sophisticated look makes this a nice gift. I'm actually planning on ordering a few as stocking stuffers.
