Use

This is a soft plastic net that is ruffled into a ball shape to be used for cleaning and gently exfoliating in the tub and/or shower. It has a bracelet handle that can go on your wrist so you do not drop this while using it standing in the shower. The color is a rich pink and may not appeal to men as much as it will surely appeal to women. I suggest that men get beyond the color and use this. It really feels nice and self-pampering.

Anyone can use this--from age 5 and up. Younger than age 5, I do not think a child has the dexterity or knowledge of how to use. Younger children would be more likely to think this is a toy and toss it around in the tub. There is nothing wrong with that, you just need to be prepared for water flying everywhere!

The Mrs. and I used this in our tub and it was very relaxing and sensuous to rub each other with the pouf. I want to order another one so we don't have to take turns--we can use them on each other at the same time!! Two poufs, the whirlpool, a snack and your favorite wine...in my book, it doesn't get much better than that.

The material did not irritate our skin however, I was unable to definitely determine the composition of the material. On the product's website however, I did find an interesting factoid about the color pink. This should encourage men not to shy away from pink products!

"Pink, emotional in character, connotes a sensitive heart. Universally representing caring and sharing, pink indicates a strong personality". Stong personality, huh? That works for me (just don't tell the Mrs.--she may not like that)!

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The net seems to be a very thin and soft type of plastic. It will very gently exfoliate as you wash using this pouf. It is very comfortable to hold. Smaller hands and larger hands will easily use this pouf. Although you can certainly use a solid soap, we prefer (and recommend) the liquid soap of your choice. We have many of the Principessa products so we have stuck with those. For more agressive exfoliation we use the Cake Beauty Sugar Scrub. Whatever you choose (a fancy spa soap or a chain drugstore soap) you should be very pleased with this product.

The Mrs. did note that this pouf performed better than other poufs she has used. The price is in the ballpark and may even be less expensive than many poufs available today. It has a denser feel due to the amount of netting that Principessa used when ruffling this ball. It has smaller openings than other bath poufs and seems to hang on to the liquid soap nicely. You want that quality in a pouf so you do not have to use an excessive amount of soap.

Taste / Aroma

There is no taste or aroma to this bath pouf. After using it several times you will notice a nice and light frangrence that lingers from the cleansing products you use. We do not sniff any odor unless you really put your nose deep inside the pouf and inhale very deeply. It is neutral so that it does not conflict with your choice of products.

Performance

We love this pouf. Not only does it do what a pouf does (cleanse and exfoliate skin) but it does it in a superior way. It is soft, but not too soft. Abrasive, but not to abrasive. Gentle, but not too gentle. It is also a "turn on" for us. How often do you take a bath and really lounge around? When we use this we always slow down and relax. It is a very nice time for us and whether or not it leads into other things, we are always satisfied!

We have had this less than a week and although we have used it and machine washed it several times, we can not estimate what its lifespan will be. It looks and feels new and the ruffle has not unraveled at all. We have all had great products that are perfect one minute and gone the next. Time will tell, but so far, so good!!

Personal comments

This bath pouf is really a washcloth in a different form. You can use it for any bathing purpose for which you would use a washcloth. The only exceptions would be to steer clear of your face because it may be too abrasive for that gentle area of your body.

Also, just like your washcloths, this should be washed after each use. It goes into the washing machine on any cycle. Do not use bleach and do not machine dry. It is not an absorbant material so drying is a snap. These are our instructions. No information comes with the pouf.
Follow-up commentary
This is still holding up well--it gets used daily and tossed in the washing machine at least once or twice a week. It has stayed together very well. Everything we liked about it at the start is still why we like it--useful, strong, soft and all around a great puff. For me, but not my wife, I could live if it were a color other than pink, but that doesn't change the quality of the item.

Thanks for the comments. I just want to say that we just got 3 more of these wonderful poufs. I have gone from always using bar soap in the shower to now using liquid soap and a pouf. It really feels good.
