Soft touch and scent

I am pleased with this item. It had a good feel and a pleasant scent. However it is not exceptional, and the gold flakes did not add anything extra to the product, so I am glad that I tried it out while it was on sale.

Use

I've used this massage oil on others and had it used on me. It is not meant for lubrication, but can be used as a massage oil and moisturizer. I like it for both as it creates a smooth setting for massage and has a soft, sweet scent that is nice in a moisturizer (in fact, I would prefer the clove to be much stronger for a massage oil). A little goes a long way, but my boy is of the mindset that more is better and ends up pumping enough out to skate around my back. I like more texture and grip, so I found 2-3 pumps enough for his back and another 1-2 pumps per limb.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

With the simplicity of the ingredients, if you have ever felt apricot kernel oil or grapeseed oil, you have a good idea what this oil feels like. For those that haven't, it's a light oil (apricot kernel and jojoba are my two favorite oils, so the combination here is fantastic) that doesn't feel greasy and absorbs into the skin in a good amount of time; enough to get a good massage, but it won't make your bed sheets all oily afterward. The pump is easy to use, though I had to feel for the output nozzle when I was giving a massage in the dark to make sure I squirted it in my hand.

It feels weird if you squirt it directly on your back, so, as with any good massage oil or lotion, warm it up in your hand, or on your forearm before applying to the back. Unless you're like my boy and find the cool drops pleasantly teasing.

Taste / Aroma

The Spicy Clove & Amber oil isn't very spicy. I was expecting more from the clove, though I demand a lot of my spices. All that said, the amber is very sweet, subtle, and pleasant, so it is enjoyable to use.

Performance

This oil did not require reapplication during the massage, though it is easy to simply add another pump if having a very long massage, or expanding to more body parts and did not require cleaning up, or wiping off after. It is a good weight for a massage oil and would function well as a moisturizer as well. My only complaint, as stated above, is that I prefer my massage oils to be more strongly scented, and I couldn't make out the clove.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely

Packaging

The oil comes in a sleek, discreet, black box like most other LELO products. The bottle itself looks like a perfume bottle and would fit in to any shelf of toiletries. The ring at the top of the bottle also helps prevent the pump from being pressed accidentally, which I find a very helpful feature for storage.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Does not leak
    • Would make a nice gift

Special Features

The product supposedly has gold flecks. Perhaps it was just the light I was looking in, but the most that it seemed to do was add a slight glow to my skin that could have also just been the oil. Don't count on the flecks adding sparkle to your skin.
