Use

Well, tomorrow is the Mrs 59th birthday and I ordered several items from EF. I just can never hold off on giving her stuff, so when "Milk Made Body" smoothing white sugar scrub by Cake arrived, I gave it to her right away. I've already taken care of her lips with other EF products (great stuff) so I decided to soften up her already soft body.

According to Cake, the Milk Made Body is designed to slough off dead, dry skin and treat the fresh skin so that you feel smooth, soft and your skin will be moisturized. It can be used by anyone, but I would recommend it mostly to women 13 years of age and up.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is very gritty stuff, but in a good way. When you rub some on your skin it spreads very easily even with all the gritty stuff you feel. In this case the grit is what exfoliates (removes dead skin cells) while the other ingredients moisturize. The grit is likely the white sugar, which is one of the listed ingredients.

The sugar/grit is suspended in an oily base. Once opened, even if the jar is tightly capped, do not tip it over because it will leak. We had it laying on its side and I went to place it the "right" way, the jar felt slick from oil and there was a little puddle of oil. Luckily, it was on the sink counter but if it had been on the Mrs. robe or a towel, it may have left an oily stain. I rubbed the oil in my hands and they felt nice and soft. My skin absorbed the oil nicely. The grit is heavier than the oil and settles a bit as it sits so before each use, stir it with a spoon.

Please make certain that the cover is tightly screwed on because although this is sort of thick with grit, the base texture isn't that thick and if you tip it over it will spill out. It is not secure with the cap tight, but it helps.

Taste / Aroma

This stuff smells super wonderful. Some of the ingredients are whole milk, white sugar, cocoa, shea butter with a touch of coconut oil thrown in for good measure. What? Are you reading a recipe for birthday cake? No, but this does smell identical to cake batter!! It smells so yummy I feel obligated to remind you not to get a spoon from the kitchen drawer and start eating (and don't stick your fingers in to lick it either). Neither of us tasted this stuff, but after using it, the Mrs. tasted pretty darn good. Darn good.

Performance

We just returned from a long trip. The Mrs. was complaining (yes, she does that too) about her legs swelling up (that happens on these long flights) and her skin was looking dry and scaly. Milk Made Body arrived just in time.

First, she showered and then ran a nice warm bath. After relaxing for awhile, she took some of thie Milk Made and spread it over 1 of her legs. Then she rubbed it around to let the sugar grits do their exfoliating thing. She also did the other leg and both of her arms. I did the back for her (saved the best for last). She applied the stuff with her hands but to remove it, she found it easier to use a wash cloth. It came off easily and honestly you could have just rubbed it off with your hands, but the wash cloth was quicker and probably more thorough. I am guessing, if you soak in the bath long enough, it will melt off (sugar disolves easily in water) but you want to be sure you get all remnants off.

The Mrs. said she felt great (after a relaxing bath and the Milk Made), I say she felt great, she smelled great and her skin looked great. She was smooth and soft as a baby's butt. I may try the stuff one day but I won't tell the Mrs. or you. This stuff is not manly. They should come up with a line of male products that work like this stuff. I think a nice manly pine scent would be quite nice.
    • Rinses off with water
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Feels natural

Packaging

The Milk Made Body by Cake arrived wrapped in a plastic bag, which I am pretty sure was added by the packing and shipping department. It is 20 ounces by weight and approximately 2 cups by volume. It is a clear plastic jar (not too stiff but not really soft and squeezable either). The plastic cap screws on. The jar is round, the cap is flat and it measures 3" across the top and 3.5" from top to bottom. The jar is decorated in white, ppink and black. The ingredients are listed in English and French are clearly listed on the back. No clear directions are given, but it is pretty much self explanatory.

I would hesitate to travel with this product because of it's tendency to leak. Even in a sealed plastic bag I would be concerned about getting the oil base on my things. If you do decide to travel with this product, remember to pack it in checked luggage because it exceeds TSA standards. It is perfectly discreet to leave out for anyone to see and/or use.

Personal comments

Besides working great to keep your skin soft and smooth, it also helps you relax. This is like a spa in a jar--all you need is a nice warm bath, a wash cloth, a bath pillow and a big towel for when you step out of the tub. The Mrs. calls it "heaven in a jar". I even heard her talking about it on the phone with her sister, so that's a very good sign.
Follow-up commentary
This is still fun to use and it smells remarkable. I don't know any woman who wouldn't love this stuff.
