Keeping it Clean...

This is a very versatile spray that has many uses in my home. Even though I use it for practically everything, this bottle is lasting a lot longer than I anticipated. The dispenser does an excellent job at regulating the spray amount and dispensing it evenly to cover more of the surface area. This cuts down on over-spraying and waste. This is my favorite cleaner....for more reasons than my toys!

You expect quality products from the Lelo brand. Their toy cleaner, with its antibacterial properties, definitely fulfills this expectation. The packaging upholds Lelo's tendency for elegance and discretion. The simple box is white with Lelo in metallic silver on the top and front. They market the spray as an "Antibacterial Cleaning Spray". The product description, directions and ingredient list is printed on two sides. One side in English and the other, I assume, in Swedish. There is a picture of a spray bottle on the third side, which fits the contents description on the front. The directions does tell the reader to "Spray surface of the toy' and also 'Suitable for use with silicone, rubber and latex toys'. There is no mention of adult products or anything sexual so this could be passed off as a cleaner for children's toys.

The bottle is very elegant looking. It is made of opaque, white plastic and the Lelo logo on the front is a chrome-like silver. The lid and neck of the dispenser are the same chrome-like silver while the push button sprayer is white. Using both colors does add to the luxurious and discreet look of the bottle.

After removing the lid, I had to unscrew the dispenser and replace the rubber o-ring the top of the dispenser neck. It had fallen down to the bottom of the neck and made the bottle leak. Luckily, it does not look like I lost much of the cleaner and it has not leaked since.

The aroma of this alcohol free and PH balanced spray reminds me of a very weak and watered down non-alcohol hair spray. It has that same fresh and clean, but lightly chemical odor of a 'natural' hair friendly hair spray. This is not as unpleasant as it sounds, it actually smells good after it is wiped off the toy. The smell lasts about 3-4 minutes and dissipates completely. My toys just smell clean and fresh without the cleaning spray aroma.

The cleaner comes out with a nice, even mist that starts out around 1/8" diameter and expands equally to an even 6 inches. This ensures most of your item is covered evenly and the bacteria or fungus on your item has not spread beyond its surface.

Spray your toy evenly with this cleaner, wait for five minutes and wipe it off. Make sure the spray is thoroughly removed by your soft, lint free cloth. This cleaner does have anti microbial ingredients which were proven to kill 99.9% of all germs. There are also anti-viral & anti-fungal properties in the formula. It is body safe since it does contain zinc salts to remove the likelihood of skin irritation.

The directions state that there is no reason to wash the toy after cleansing since it is body safe. If the toy is used on my genitals or other sensitive areas, I do give it a thorough rinse. The skin in and around my vagina is very sensitive to chemicals and perfumes which can cause rashes, irritation and extreme soreness. I also do not recommend this for any toy you play with orally, you do not want to ingest this cleaner.

The cleaner washed off easily with water. Soap is unnecessary for removing it from your skin or toy surface. The residue from the spray has a slightly sticky feel to it for a minute or two, but it disappears on evaporation.

The cleaner comes in a 2 ounce bottle, which usually is a small amount and is easily used up. However with this cleaner, you do not use as much of this spray as it seems and it should last for a very reasonable time.

I do wish it came in a larger bottle as well. I have to order these by the pair. The spray is perfect fro using on kitchen and bathroom counters, cutting boards, hairbrushes, dining and end tables, high chairs and other baby related items and, of course, many children's toys. I have had very good luck using this on plastic, laminate, wood, porcelain and glass. I do go back over the area with a Clorox wipe to make sure none of the cleaner is ingested.

I use this cleaner as well. I don't rinse it, as I'd rather have the anti-fungal properties hanging out on my toy than whatever happens to live in the local tap water, but I understand why you'd do so if you're sensitive.

    Great review!
