Possibly the best feature to this product is just how many situations it can be used for. Being a water based lube, it's safe to use with any of your toys or condoms. You don't need to worry about it bonding with toys or destroying condoms, like you do with silicone based lube. This works absolute wonders for intercourse, toy play, or masturbation(Male or Female). For each activity, one rarely needs to use more than one pump of the lube . It does not dry quickly, and stays smooth.

The only real downside is for anal. While this lube is more viscous than average, it still falls a bit short for anal. It took several applications before and during for this product to make anal truly pleasurable for both parties. That being said, if you do not wish to buy a specific anal lube, Maximus is still a better choice than other water based lubes we have used in the past for anal(specifically Wet Platinum Bodyglide). It does however work fine for small toys and beads.

Keep in mind this is not for shower use, and it will wash off immediately.

Another thing I like very much about this lube is its viscosity. It comes out of the dispenser easily, but is still viscous enough to maintain some form on your hand. It's not watery or oily like some lubes, and won't roll off your fingers as soon as it's out of the dispenser, which is a huge help during application. Despite the viscosity, Maximus is still extremely smooth and slippery, both during intercourse and when applied to the surface of toys.

After it comes out of the dispenser and begins to be warmed by your hands or body, Maximus does begin to thin out some. After it's applied though, the viscosity disappears and you're left with a smooth and extremely pleasurable glide. It should be noted that this lube meshes extremely well with a woman's natural lubrication, and when they are combined the resulting lubrication is both very effective and natural feeling.

After a few applications though, it did seem to leave a light residue on one's fingers, but it was not entirely unpleasant and washed off very easily.

When the lube is first dispensed from the bottle there is certainly a mild chemical aroma to it, but it is not unpleasant, and seems to disappear soon after the lube is applied. The bottle is well sealed though, so this smell won't permeate your room if you leave it out on the open.

There is a mild taste associated with Maximus also, it is not horrifying but at the same time unpleasant enough to avoid. It washes off so easily though, so it would be simple enough to wash off before oral play.

I'm not sure if it's the thinker viscosity or finer ingredients in this lube, but it has excellent staying power. Usually just one application is more than enough, especially if being combined with your partner's natural lubrication. If being used on toys for extended sessions, maybe more than half an hour, you may need reapplications. As noted about though, anal may require several applications.

Also, unlike some lubes we have used in the past, after extended use, this lubes simply begins to fade away as apposed to taking on a sticky or rough/gooey texture. (I assume with the water evaporating, leaving the other ingredients behind)

This lube also washes off extremely easily.

The bottle is nice enough, if nothing special. Obviously you wouldn't want it out in the open if you need to hide your other sex toys.

The nozzle dispenses the lube easily, and can be done with one hand. It is not travel friendly because the dispenser nozzle has no way of locking closed. The bottle can be laid on its side without leaking though, in case you want to store it in a shallow drawer.

This product does not have any special features, it does not warm, cool, or desensitize any areas. I know that some other purchasers had experienced this problem with Maximus, but neither my girlfriend nor myself felt any such effects. Personally, I believe that's exactly how it should be, if you're looking for those special features, buy a specialized product that will deliver them reliably. A lube like this though should be very straight forward.

The ingredients are as follows: Highly Purified Water, Propylene Glycol Cellulose Polymer, Di Sodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl Paraben, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben

None of these are compounds which typically cause allergic reactions, however if you know that your body may react adversely, obviously avoid this lube.

Having tried several water based lubes in the past which were adequate, but not truly pleasurable, Maximus was a fantastic find. Not being able to use any silicone based lubes, because of our condom use, my girlfriend and I thought we were doomed to using lubricant which always had substandard performance. Maximus genuinely changed that though, its perks and effectiveness are unbelievable, and its few drawbacks are entirely understandable. It's difficult to make a perfect product.

As we have said above, we have used this lube for a variety of sexual activities (intercourse, toy play, anal, male/female masturbation) and it performed outstandingly as a simple water based lube for each of them. During intercourse it seamlessly combines with your partners natural lubrication and lets you slide in easier than you ever has before. It adds that extra silkiness to toys which can really send you over the edge, and it lets your fingers truly glide over your pleasure zones during masturbation. Even during anal, while it may not have been the perfect one application lube, it was still better than almost all we have tried in the past. What more can I say? Maximus is now, and will likely remain our go to lube for a long time to come.
