Ride H2O lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by Ningyo

Ride water-based lubricant by Sliquid is a great multipurpose lube. It can be used for both vaginal and anal use. The bottle specifies it as 'dude lube', and I'm not sure why Sliquid chose to market it this way, because this lube could be used by anyone, for all lubricating needs.

This lube is really thick, I gather because it was designed for anal use. It certainly works well for that; I can use my draggy silicone toys (such as VixSkin and Fun Factory) anally with this lube without a problem, and reapplication is only necessary about every half hour or so. It also works great vaginally, if you don't mind a thick lube. It's also not sticky at all, which is a plus. It dries on the skin without leaving any residue.

Ingredients are as follows: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Cyamposis (Guar Conditioners), Potassium Sorbate. Only four ingredients! A lot of Sliquid's other formulas have fancy plant extracts and whatnot, but this seems to be just about the most basic formula they offer. It's also vegan.

Ride has a bit of a soap-ish taste to it; it's not real strong or unpleasant, just keep in mind that it's not tasteless. It has a similar scent, but to me it's just barely detectable.

This lube performs excellently, in fact it's my favorite Sliquid lube that I've tried so far. This is because it's the slickest of the bunch; with other Sliquid lubes, it gets annoying having to reapply every 15 minutes or so, but this one seems to last a lot longer. This also makes it multipurpose, so I don't have to think about using different lubes for different activities. When I run out of my other Sliquid lubes, this is the one I have a feeling that I'll continue to buy. It also is a few bucks cheaper a bottle than other Sliquid lubes, as an added incentive.

I have the 8.5 ounce size of Ride. It comes in a tall amber-colored plastic (#1) bottle with a push top. Now, the biggest problem with this product is the label, in my opinion. On the front, "RIDE" is in giant letters, and "dude lube" and "water-based" are clearly visible. That with a picture of a dude riding a bucking horse... people aren't going to have to think very hard to figure out that this is sex lube. It's not classy like other Sliquid labels, I suppose because it's aimed for 'dudes'.
