Ride H2O lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by LuLu Love

Ride H2O by Sliquid is a water based lubricant. It can be used just like any other water based lube; anally, vaginally, externally, and on any toy material. This won't work in water however; it'll just wash away. There are so many different lubes on the market so how is this one different? Well, the company Sliquid has the goal of safe, healthy lubes. Ride H2O follows this goal with healthy, body safe ingredients. Instead of using paraben and glycerin, Sliquid employs plant cellulose. For women and their partners who have reactions to many brands of lube, Ride H2O may be a solution. Its only ingredients are water, plant cellulose from cotton fibers, polyquat 007, DMDM hydantoin. Polyquat 007 is non-toxic and is added in a very small amount to help the plant cellulose glide. The DMDM hydantoin is an antimicrobial and a preservative.

You may actually notice a bit of cloudiness in the lube but that's normal with plant cellulose.

I have read in a few places that lubricants can slow down sperm, so if you are having trouble getting pregnant, you may want to discontinue the use of lubricants. Of course, this does not mean it will definitely prevent pregnancy so use a condom silly.

Ride H20 is comparable to Original Astroglide. Its just a bit thicker so it doesn't run very fast when you put it on yourself or on the tip of a toy. This does mean it dries out faster though. My biggest peeve is when lubes leave a sticky residue. Ride H2O, once it dries, does leave residue but it isn't sticky. We noticed the bottle can be a bit difficult to squeeze but nothing major there.

There was a very, very mild, but not unpleasant odor and taste, associated with Ride H2O; its close enough to no smell or taste for me to call it no smell or taste. Its technically unflavored which I know many people prefer. I can't stand weird flavors and smells and this has none of those.

Ride H20 did well in the bedroom. I was happy with it mainly because of the safe ingredients. Other than that it really didn't do much better any other water based lube like Astroglide. Even though the texture wasn't too different from any other lube, the fact that it is body safe makes this my new go to lube. I like using it with my Emigi because I know it will be safe .

Cleanup is certainly my favorite part of water based lubes. Once it dries out, water will make it slick again, but a bit extra will clean it right off. And, unlike oil, it doesn't stain.

The title of my review came from the packaging; its not immediately obvious what it contains. My partner and I joked that someone could mistake it as hair gel.

We've traveled by car with this in a bag and it hasn't leaked yet but its a simple squeeze bottle and I wouldn't trust it too much.
