Glide With Ride Lubricant

Ride H2O Lubricant is a water based lube that is thick enough for anal use or any other use you have in mind. It is free of glycerin and parabens making it very safe and has no smell or taste. It is a great lube for anyone looking for something a bit thicker and safer than most water based lubricants.

Use

Ride H2O Lubricant is a water based lube by Sliquid. Like many other Sliquid lubes, it is made with safe ingredients and is a good quality lube. It is advertised as "dude lube", but the lack of harmful chemicals made is sound appealing to me for both vaginal and anal use. It can be used with toys or for sexual activities with a partner. Anyone who has reactions to glycerin and/or parabens can use this without the fear of a bad reaction.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

My go to lube is Maximus, so I found myself comparing this lube to that one. It feels like a gel, but without a slimy feel. It spreads on my toys very smoothly without globing at certain parts, which is something that has happened with other lubes. For example, sometimes I find that with Maximus I have a harder time spreading the lube to make an even coating because it is a bit runnier, this leads to there being more lube in certain spots.

The bottle has a flip top and it is very easy to dispense the desired amount of lube without getting too much. This is due to the top and the fact that this lube stays in place when you put it some where because it has a nice thick consistency. It reminds me of a thicker hair gel or even a hair product that has less water in it than gel.

Taste / Aroma

There really isn't a smell to this lube so I figured it would be ok to try a small drop to see if it had a taste. I was glad to find that there is no taste, which means that this is good if you want to use this at a time when you will have oral sex without worrying about a nasty after taste. Lube with a taste can probably ruin a fun sexual experience, so having no taste is a plus in my book.

Performance

I really enjoy this lubricant. It is safe for use with all of my toys and it is thick enough to use for both vaginal and anal play. I liked that it was easy to spread out on my toys with one or two fingers because when I want to play sometimes I am in a hurry to get things going!

One thing that I was not as impressed about was how long it lasts without reapplication. It is not that it needs to be reapplied right away, but it does seem to dry out a bit faster than I would like. This is especially true if I am getting into some faster thrusting. While using silicone toys for a decent amount of time I have to reapply it. However, if I am using an anal plug and wearing it for a while, then this is different. I am guessing it has something to do with the amount of movement that is occurring.

I do not have any problems with this in regards to clean up, but if you get a large amount on yourself and then happen to let it dry, then it can look a little flaky. It easily washes off with water and does not stain.

Packaging

Ride lubricant comes in two sizes: 4.2 oz and 8.5 oz, I chose the smaller size because I wasn't sure how much I would like it. It comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top cap which is very easy to open. The top stays closed very well, but I think if the bottle got bumped the right way while in a bag or suitcase then it might open. My suggestion is to keep it in a plastic bag when traveling with it.

The label says "dude lube" on the front, above the word "Ride" and also mentions information about being compatible with certain types of toy materials. With all of that being said, this isn't very discreet. It is not a bright bottle that screams "lube" or anything when you look at it, but if someone were to be close enough to read it then your secret will be given away.
    • Easy to use / dispense
    • Very informative packaging

Experience

After Ride Lubricant is spread on my toys it feels very natural when in use. It does not have that overly watery or slimy feel that some other lubes have that make you aware of the fact that it is not your natural lubrication. I like lubes that stay on the toy once you put them on so that there is no worry about spills, and this one is also great at that. My toys glide to their destination when I use this lubricant!

Overall I enjoy this one and recommend it, especially to those who are looking for something safe and reliable.
Follow-up commentary
I had given this lube 4 stars because I felt it was in some way lacking in comparison to Maximus when I first used it. Over the past few months I have really come to like it even MORE than Maximus. The gel consistency works better for all uses and I have learned the "right" amount so that it doesn't dry up too fast. The fact that there are no parabens also makes it better for me because I find that sometimes parabens actually do bother me a bit. This is my new favorite lube!
