Ride H2O lubricant - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by solly

This is now my go-to lube to use with any of my toys. The fact that it contains so few ingredients and nothing that can react with any type of sex toy material, whether it be rubber or silicone, makes me confident that I can use it safely in any situation. It is also hypoallergenic and does not contain glycerine, which my partner and I are sensitive to, so that is a pretty important factor for us when choosing lubricants.

This lubricant is slick and viscous in consistency without being sticky and absorbs into your skin since it is water-based. I like the fact that it doesn't leave behind a dry, tacky feeling afterwards that I had come to expect from most water-based lubricants. One downside of this lubricant is the taste, which is pretty close to dish soap so you definitely will want to look elsewhere for a good lubricant for oral sex. I have yet to try out Sliquid Swirl but I look forward to testing that lubricant out as well since I can't seem to find many water-based lubes that don't include glycerine or some type of paraben or sweetener.

This lubricant does not have much of a smell. However, the taste is pretty awful--I'm not going to lie. Since this is a lube designed for penetrative rather than oral sex, however, I can't fault it very much for that. Do not put this in your mouth unless you enjoy the taste of dish soap. One saving grace of this is that even if you do somehow get a little in your mouth my accident, a quick rinse of water will get rid of the taste and it doesn't linger or stick to your tongue.

It's pretty evident that this lubricant is made for anal sex because it is thick and lasts longer than any other water-based lubricant that I've tried. However, my partner and I use it for vaginal sex and it is particularly useful for helping me take larger or thicker toys that I would normally have difficulty with and makes the whole experience of using a strap-on more comfortable and easier on the both of us. We sometimes find it necessary to re-apply this lubricant during a particularly rough or long session, but most times it seems to last long enough to get us going and works well alongside my body's natural lubrication. I have also personally used this with some anal toys and it works excellently. It also helps to put a little bit of the lube inside/around the outside of the area of your body that is being penetrated to make things easier and more comfortable. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way and I love it for that fact.

My Dude Lube came in a medium-sized brown bottle that has a cowboy graphic on the label. It is sturdy and has a shampoo bottle style cap so it's easy to open and apply the lube without fear of it squirting all over the place. I find the label kinda cute and kitschy. However, it is pretty darn obvious what it is so I wouldn't call it discreet. If you are traveling with this lube or are concerned that others may see it, my suggestion would be to put it in a different bottle/container--just be sure not to mix it up with your hair care products!
