Swirl lube - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by KinkforTwo

I don't know about you, but when I use a toy with my wife or lube up to slip more than just a few fingers inside of her, we also enjoy plenty of oral to go along with it. In the past I was fairly against it, lube is....gross. It doesn't taste good, it leaves a weird film in your mouth, and damnit I'm not a porn star, I don't get paid to do this. It was with bated breath that I tried out several types of 'flavored' lube and found that each one more than the last was also gross, and left a film in your mouth. Only this time it also left the weird artificial food flavoring behind too.

I was skeptical when I placed the order for Sliquid Swirl, I've tried many different types of flavored lube and they all suck. I figured though that Sliquid had GREAT reviews for their other products so why not give 'Swirl' a whirl.

I ordered the Strawberry Pomegranate along with another Sliquid lube, when it arrived it came as per the norm for Eden Fantasy in a non-descript brown box. On the inside was a small plastic bag with the lubes in it, a 2011 product catalogue, brown packing paper, and an invoice. The lube comes in a small sealed plastic bottle, the label is supposed to be colored based on your flavor, my label was pinkish red. The bottle itself is 4.2oz (125mL) and has a very nice label style. It's definitely something I wouldn't think twice about leaving in the medicine cabinet. There are basic instructions, warnings, and ingredients. The Strawberry Pomegranate Swirl contains: Purified water, plant cellulose, cyamposis, strawberry and pomegranate flavoring, aspartame, potassium sorbate, and citric acid. It also boosts to being 100% vegan, glycerin & paraben free, and hypoallergenic for any material toy.

So what is the first thing someone who has just purchased flavored lube does? You bet your ass I did it, I opened the seal. Then, second, I tasted it, and you know what? It actually tastes good. Granted, it's still flavored lube, but the flavor is actually not bad. My wife hit it the nail on the head, it doesn't so much taste like strawberry pomegranate as it does watermelon. It does leave an immediate film and after taste but the film goes away very quickly and the taste is not a bad taste, it just stays there for a long time.

How does this stuff stack up as a lube you say? Well, by gee, we tested that too. I surrender the bottle of lube over to the wife who proceeded to use it on her favorite vibe. In the same day we tested this lube, we also tested Sliquid Sea, so I'm going to stack it up against the 'Sea' line (if you're interested you can read all about 'Sea' in another of my reviews). It's not as viscous as sea and it requires more to achieve the same effect. We found that we had to use two drops the size of a quarter, and I believe this is due to the lack of a quality lubricating ingredient. While yes, it does obviously have lubricating ingredients, 'Sea' has a couple extra designed to increase the slickness of the product. These ingredients are absent on 'Swirl'.

Our next test involved the shower, and I can flat out say that this is a terrible lube to use in the shower, even with dry hands and just bits of water splattering around the lube was pretty much useless by the time I got it fully spread on the toy. It just does not hold up in the shower, which is a shame.

Our last test involved sexy time, I put a small drop in my hand and lubed myself up and slid right inside of my wife. It's lube, it works, what can I say. This lube does a decent job of staying slick coupled with her own natural lubricant, but after a few minutes I felt a little nauseous at the sweet strawberry smell, it's not overpowering but if you're sensitive to sweet smells, it can get to you.

Well we've used this lube a few more times but not as much as I'd have liked. Quite frankly, we've LOVED the Sliquid line and have bought some of the other general and unflavoured lubes over using this one. There did seem to be a bit confusion in my last review in which I stated originally that the lube was very good for sex and then said the lube was average.

What I meant was if you use the lube for just sex or sex toys, then it's a GREAT lube for those purposes. For vaginal sex only; for anal sex and shower sex it just doesn't stack up to other Sliquid lines. Sorry I should have been clearer in my original review!
