Swirl lube - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by evanescentowl

Let me start off by saying I was very excited when I found out about the Sliquid brand. Their products are paraben- and glycerin-free, which is a big plus for a lot of people. I personally prefer paraben- and glycerin-free products due to the fact I have sensitive skin (though I am not specifically sensitive to these chemicals). One thing to be aware of is the fact that this product contains aspartame, for those people that try to avoid it or cannot consume it.

Being a water-based lube with the above properties, it is extremely versatile. Oral is the intended purpose, but using it for vaginal sex, handjobs or masturbation shouldn't cause any issues. I've used it for the last two without much issue.

Another good thing to note is that is it compatible with latex, all types of toys (like silicone), and is vegan.

I loved the texture of this product. It was neither too viscous nor too thick, and certainly not runny. The little pop cap made it easy to pour (more on that later), but I imagine that even when the bottle is nearly empty it will still come out easily.

The product does a very good job at mimicking natural lubrication. It isn't sticky or greasy, and it slides well. It doesn't bead up, but it does stay relatively well, or as well as a water-based lube meant for oral sex can.

I would not recommend this for anal sex; it just isn't thick enough. If you want something that has similar properties and can be used for that, the Sliquid Naturals Sassy or the Sliquid Organics Gel would be better choices.

I purchased the cherry/vanilla flavor, though it comes in a myriad of others, including green apple and blue raspberry. This review is just going to be about the cherry/vanilla kind, but given the fact that they're all made by the same company, they will most likely have similar properties.

The taste reminds me of the cherry-vanilla part from a cherry-vanilla Pepsi, if you've had one of those. It isn't a natural taste but it isn't bad if you like such things. I'm not a fan of the combination, but the taste is not overpowering.

That being said, the taste isn't super long-lasting. It was very noticeable at first, but as time wore on it became weaker and weaker. Some might like that (I did), some might not. By the end of the session it was barely noticeable, but you could still tell it was there.

The smell is subtle from out of the bottle. It also matches the taste.

Oh, the paradox of water-based lubes. They're easy to clean up if you ever need to, don't stain, and don't leave residue. On the same card, they don't last as long as most other materials.

This product is meant for oral sex, which doesn't require lube intrinsically, and it is used more for the taste. In that sense, it performed wonderfully.

However, because you can use it for other things (another part of the paradox is its versatility), I feel compelled to review the product from those aspects as well. It worked well for masturbation and for handjobs, but it did need to be re-applied, and due to the fact that the smell wasn't over-powering, it wasn't half bad. It reactivated nicely with saliva as well.

If you don't have your usual lube on hand or need to use this up, it should fit your needs nicely. Just don't use it for anal sex.

The packaging is so cute! I got the 4.2-ounce bottle, enough to last you for a while. Unlike some labels, this one doesn't scream, "I am a sex lubricant!" at you. The design itself is neat, and it's small enough for travel. The whole object is no bigger than the palm of your hand.

Lube is dispensed through a little pop cap opening, and you squeeze it to get the right amount. For the size, this works, but if you wanted to get a larger size (they might make this in an 8-ounce size like most other Sliquid products), a pump bottle would be better.

The packaging includes the ingredients list and pretty much everything else you'd want to know. It's vegan, recyclable, 100% animal testing-free, there is a phone number, etc. My one complaint about the packaging is that it doesn't give you a shelf life.
