Swirl lube - lubricant discontinued by Sliquid, LLC - review by Britt&Rich

Sliquid Swirl is Sliquid's flavored lubricant line. There are 6 different flavors: Strawberry Pomegranate, Cherry Vanilla, Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, Pina Colada, and Pink Lemonade. Flavored lubricant makes a great addition to oral sex. Usually, I'd steer clear of getting flavored lube inside my body as the sugars can cause yeast infections or UTI's but with Sliquid, I'm a bit more comfortable with this. They promise on their website that it won't cause a yeast infection or a UTI and so far I've been in the clear. With that being said, you could use this as a regular lubricant for intercourse or as an addition to solo masturbation. Unless you're planning on licking yourself, I don't really think there's a reason to grab for this over another lubricant for anything other than oral sex but to each their own.

I love the texture of Sliquid Swirl. It's velvety, smooth and not too thick. It's not greasy at all. I found that it blended/absorbed well. After about 10 minutes it needed to be reapplied, but it didn't leave the skin feeling wet or greasy after. When I put some on my hand and held it vertically, it slowly migrated down my fingertips. As with other Sliquid products, this too stays in place fairly well. This isn't to say that when you need it to move it doesn't; it just won't wind up dripping off your partner before you want it to. It's fairly easy to pour, though you do have to squeeze the bottle.

For taste, I'll review each flavor individually. I've tried all but the pina colada flavor, so for now I'll exclude that. We'll assume that one tastes like a tropical getaway in paradise.

Cherry Vanilla is by far my favorite flavored lubricant ever. Ever. It's not too sweet. It's not too artificially flavored tasting. It's great! The best thing I can compare it to is a cherry dipped cone from Dairy Queen. Why buy cherry dipped cones when you can replicate that with your partner and get 80 uses for the same price of two cones? It's a win in my book!

Blue Raspberry is my second favorite flavor in the Sliquid Swirl line. To give you guys an idea of how much I love blue raspberry, in my world "blue" is a flavor. This includes (but isn't limited to) blue raspberry candy and blue fruit punch/koolaid. So, back to lube. Blue in this world of lube is also pretty dang good. It's an authentic raspberry flavor with just enough blue added to make this not just raspberry, but not enough to make this too artificial either. My only complaint is that the flavor with this isn't quite as long lasting as the cherry vanilla is.

Strawberry Pomegranate is my third favorite in this line. I love pomegranates more than life itself. I had such high hopes for this flavor. It let me down! It's overwhelmingly strawberry. It's a good, authentic strawberry taste. It's not too sweet and not too candy-like. If you're looking for a good strawberry flavor, you'll probably find this one to be a "winner winner strawberry cheesecake dinner". If you're looking for pomegranate though, I'd recommend going after Wicked Pomegranate instead.

Green Apple is my fourth favorite in this line. Actually, I should say it ranks as number four - it isn't a favorite at all. I expected this to taste like green apple martinis, which I quite fancy. This one is way too tart. The apple flavor isn't immediately apparent either. It sneaks on up on ya as an after taste and that's really disappointing to me.

Pink Lemonade is my least favorite in this line. The instant it touched my tongue, I wanted it out of my mouth. I spit it out the first time. Yuck! For the sake of research, I decided to give it another shot. Nope. Still don't like it. It tastes like really watered down lemonade with way too much sugar. It's not good sugar either. It's like dollar store tart candy you'd give to your bratty little cousin before you send them home so they can annoy the crap out of their parents.

I haven't noticed a smell at all with any of the Swirl flavors I've tried.

I found Sliquid Swirl to last about 10 minutes before needing to be reapplied when used for oral sex. It absorbs nicely into the skin and I didn't find that it needed to be washed off. Keep in mind it is water based though and if you feel differently about washing it off, it'll be very easy to rinse off and clean up.

The only thing I don't like about this product is that not all of the flavors taste great. I can't really blame the company for that though. Different strokes for different folks. I'm confident that there's at least one flavor that everyone would enjoy.

There are so many pros to this. I'ts vegan friendly. It has no gluten, glycerine, parabens, PEG, propylene glycol, sorbitol, or sulphates. Woo! It supposedly won't cause UTIs or yeast infections. The flavors that I do enjoy are top notch. It adds extra spice and flavor to the bedroom, which helps change things up every now and then. It doesn't mask the taste of your partner; rather, it enhances it. It's compatible with all toy materials. It's not going to stain your clothes, your sheets, your couch, or your car interiors...

Sliquid Swirl comes in pretty standard packaging. It comes in a 4 ounce clear bottle with a colored label and a coordinating colored pop top lid. The label has the typical Sliquid emblem as well as an ingredient list and a small blurb about why Sliquid is delicious and body safe. The packaging is definitely not discreet. The caps are pretty awesome. They're easy to open with one hand and they're, generally speaking, pretty leak proof. With the cap open, no matter how long I held a bottle upside down, nothing came out.

There's one other huge advantage to the color coordinated lids. Lets say you're like us and you buy every flavor so you can taste the entire rainbow. The lid color corresponds with the label color, which corresponds with the flavor. Cherry vanilla has a red lid, blue raspberry has a blue lid, green apple has a green lid. You get the picture. So now you're in the heat of the moment and you say "Hey babe, grab the... umm green one!" You don't have to spend time fumbling around trying to read labels to figure out which one's which. You can simply grab the one with the green lid and bam, now you've got some green apple yumminess in your hands. This makes it so you really don't have to think about which is which because it's all logical. If you happen to keep all of your lubes together, this makes it very easy to quickly grab the one you want and be on your merry way.

I'd say that this item is travel friendly; however, if you're planning on tossing it in your carry-on luggage when you fly somewhere, you'll need to transfer some into a smaller bottle. This is a larger bottle than the 3.4 oz that the TSA allows.

Overall, I give this a 4 out of 5 stars. I've docked a star because not all of the flavors are delicious and because I'm still leery about using a flavored lube as a regular lube on a normal basis. In the end, the Cherry Vanilla flavor is the flavored lubricant I'll go to 9 times out of 10.
