Perhaps not the best choice for the price-sensitive or orally inclined.

I'd recommend this product for solo and partner play sessions. The fact that it's water-based means that it plays very well with toys and condoms although you may want to look for something a bit thicker if you're interested in anal. Fair-warning though: this lube has a very bitter taste. Not recommended for oral sex.

Although some reviewers have been claiming otherwise, this product is glycerin free, paraben free, petroleum free, colour and synthetic fragrance free and vegan-friendly. Although this may be good news for women who are prone to yeast infections, this lubricant does contain vegetable propylene glycol which can be irritating to some women.

Neither too thick nor too thin and never drippy, this lubricant could definitely get Goldilocks seal of approval! Because the texture and feel of this lubricant is very similar to what I produce naturally, once applied, it wasn't clear where the lube stopped and I began. Although this may be a con for those of you looking for that "super slick" feeling, it was really nice being able to forget that it was even there. What was especially nice was that this lubricant never seemed to get sticky even when I spot-tested it on other parts of my body.

Hathor aphrodisia has a very faintly sweet smell almost flowery. Although I typically prefer unscented products (and the packaging does purport that hathor is "non-fragrant") I didn't find the smell off-putting - in fact, it was actually quite nice! What is off-putting however is the extremely bitter taste. Before I tried this lubricant I had no idea how often I lick my fingers while masturbating! Although the taste doesn't linger long, every time I unconsciously raised my fingers to my mouth was a decidedly unpleasant experience and really took me out of the moment.

Hathor Aphrodisia Pure hit a lot of high-points in my book. It was long-lasting, felt natural, never got sticky, smelled great and didn't make a mess! Whether it did what it claimed to however was open to debate.

Although I do notice a pleasant tingly sensation while using this product it is nowhere near as strong as what I expected from the product's name and from it's lauded inclusion of horny goat weed. Although it functioned very well as a lubricant those looking for a stimulating product should probably look elsewhere.

The lube comes in a flip-top tube that I had no problems opening one-handed. The tube is a nice shade of gold but the odd sperm-heart logo and clear labelling mean that this product isn't exactly discreet. It would have been nice if, as a premium lubricant, Hathor Aphrodisia came in a more luxurious package, but this didn't really detract from my experience.

I was primarily attracted to Hathor Aphrodisia Pure because I was looking for a versatile, body-safe lubricant (with it's aphrodisiac properties being an added bonus!). Although it technically worked well in many aspects (and as interesting as it was to learn just how often I lick my fingers), the taste and price mean that I won't be buying a bottle of this stuff again (and may be hard-pressed to use up what I already have).
