Personal Moisturizer for Personal Places

LELO Personal Moisturizer is a water based lube that contains no harmful glycerin. Instead it is loaded with aloe, guarana and ginseng and performs as not only a lube but a personal moisturizer throughout the day for those who have issues with vaginal dryness. It is of medium thickness and, while not the best bet for anal, should be adequate to suit the needs of nearly anyone.

Use

LELO Personal Moisturizer, I've found, works quite well as a personal moisturizer for the female genital area. It helps to minimize vaginal dryness until you begin creating your own moisture but may not hold up for the long haul if you need a heavy duty lube.

It should work for anyone who is looking for a light lube or a bit of extra moisture throughout the day but probably won't do the job for long love making sessions or as an anal lube.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

LELO Personal Moisturizer is middle of the road when it comes to thickness. Rather like a hair gel, it stays put fairly well and doesn't run but is not what I'd consider thick, either.

Mine came in a small tube with a flip cap and dispensing was as easy as squeezing the tube. A small squeeze will get you a nickel sized dollop, a big squeeze could well get you a handful. It's very easy to get as much as you, personally, need.

Right out of the bottle it feels quite cold and goopy, as most water based lubes do. It stays where you put it, taking a bit to run at all, but quickly thins out and spreads once you begin to rub it around. It has a nice, slightly silky feel to it as you rub it but because it is water based without the addition of glycerin it does tend to soak in very quickly and become just a bit tacky in the moments between being useful and being absorbed.

It does not leave you sticky afterwards, however. Once it absorbs it simply leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.

Taste / Aroma

I noticed no real scent to this lube and a slightly bitter, slightly sweet taste. It is not intended to be an oral lubricant, however, so I didn't actually eat any, just licked the back of my hand when I first checked it out.

I think you could get away with oral sex after applying this without it tasting foul or deterring you but would not recommend using it if oral is all you have in your play plans.

Performance

LELO Personal Moisturizer performs admirably as a personal moisturizer. Hormonal issues and age can give you a feeling of dryness, even when you're not planning on sexual activities, and this work well to combat that.

As a lube during penetration, it works adequately but not admirably. It feels smooth and slick but quickly absorbs into the skin, making reapplication necessary unless you rapidly begin to create your own vaginal moisture. I would not recommend it for anal sex due to this and its lack of thickness.

For clitoral stimulation it creates a nice slickness and a great barrier between toy and clit but seemed to absorb too quickly during manual masturbation, again needing to be reapplied.

Special Features

This is a glycerin free, water based lube that contains many natural ingredients such as aloe, guarana and ginseng. It does also contain aspartame which gives it a slight sweetness and makes it palatable if you happen to get it in your mouth.

Because it is water and aloe based, however, it doesn't have the longevity of glycerin based lubes. I guess we trade safety for longevity!

    Good review!

Carrie Ann, I think it's interesting how some of these lubes work differently for different body chemistries. I personally, didn't find that it moisturized all that much, (no more than any other water based lube) nor did it absorb quickly, but found it worked fairly well for anal. (Do some people have moister bottoms than others? I actually have no idea. It's an interesting concept to think about.)

But, I'm on an estrogen cream vaginally, (damn early peri-menopause) so perhaps the medication is helping me produce more of my own moisture than I might otherwise.

It's interesting to see the differences, knowing all of our bodies are a bit different.

All the LELO products I have tried have been nothing less than wonderful, so it's a bit disappointing to see them come out with a product that is less than awesome. Thanks for the review Carrie Ann.

I might have to try this, though the ingredients you listed are all the same as in Pink Water. I wonder how they compare.

I was hoping a lube by Lelo would be a bit more awesome. Thanks for the review.

Great review - it's too bad that this product seems to be fairly middle-of-the-road.
