Maximus - lubricant discontinued by Bodywise Limited - review by Library Girl

I used Astroglide forever until I became so dissatisified with the product that I went reading reviews to find a new product. I came across Maximus and decided to give it a try. Boy was I blown away by the difference! I did initially buy a smaller bottle off of Drugstore.com because of the size offered on Eden. But now I'm hooked and keep it on hand at all times.

The texture is hard to describe. It is definitely a thicker gel, almost like hair gel. In fact, when I started with the small bottle that dispensed with a little flip top if you didn't swipe the dispensed lube onto your finger it would literally suck back into the bottle. But this thickness is to your benefit. It won't get everywhere like a thinner lube and won't need to be reapplied in most cases.

There is no discernible odor to the product and I have not tasted it. Sorry, just not willing to go that far for a review! I will say that due to the thickness and staying power of the product, if you use the lube for intercourse and then switch it up back to oral I suspect you will get a chance to taste it.

Maximus performs like a champ! My big gripe with Astroglide was whether I was using it to masturbate or have sex, it would end up all over my thighs and left me sticky. Even after showering I would feel like it was still there. I don't have that problem with Maximus it lasts longer without reapplying and it doesn't dry out and start making crumbly junk. This is also the only water based lube I've used that was thick enough to use in the shower too.

The package offered on Eden is very large although it's great that it has a pump dispenser. It's literally bigger than the dispenser I use for dish soap in the kitchen. I intend to fill a smaller toiletry travel bottle and keep that at my boyfriend's and use the big pump to refill it. It would look a bit obscene setting out like what the heck are you doing that you need that much lube?

Although it has many uses, this is a great product for those of us suffering from occasional vaginal dryness. My boyfriend loves morning sex but I tend to be dryer in the morning due to medication side effects. After having a problem with a slight vaginal tear, the gyno recommended a gel lubricant to prevent it from happening again. Thankfully this stays where I put it and has prevented it and my guy still gets his favorite wake up call.
